FPS cuts in half when in MP

So as title says, however details are the following:

-- I use d3d8to9 as my dGPU cannot lock on the game without it, before I always had been capped to 144 fps (which is my screen refresh rate as well) but yesterday I discovered that when I join the multiplayer game on Disco my FPS cuts in half to 65. This happens only in fullscreen mode.
-- I tried disabling vsync and changing multiple settings in nvidia control panel - nothing worked.
-- I'd prefer a solution that doesn't require installing 3rd party tools and other bloatware but changing settings of Windows itself.

Anyone had it, anyone fixed it? Or it's a sign from above for me?

rivatuner stats server to cap to 144

using other fps caps didnt work for me, had issue of dropping fps when joining MP. might work for you? also you have to toggle fullscreen and window with alt+enter to get the fps to 'unlock'

I also had this problem until today. I didn't realise you could turn off vsync, as there isn't a setting for it ingame. It turns out there is a setting for it in the nvidia control panel tho, and it seemed to work for me as now I get ~130fps

I've tried that and had it capped to 100 fps (lol). Reinstalling Windows fixed that (and I've planned it for last few months anyway) and I hope to never have this issue again. But in case if you have it - try disabling vsync in nvidia control panel or using rivatuner to cap your fps to 155 or maximum screen refresh rate if its below 155
