Hi all,

just a few minutes, after my junker had a run in with the CR (yea i was carrying cardi), i had a discussion with one of them about the right and wrong of carrying "contraband". I then decided to dock at the freeport in tau 37 just to be safe.

Now after i think 5 minutes, i received a message, you are kicked for base idling, and i return to the server selection screen, now i could relog almost immediately, but now i don't know if there are consequences to this, or isn't this a big deal. (first time i get kicked for something, so i am quite worried)

It's just to keep players from hogging slots while docked. It kicks you after 10 minutes or so.

There are no consequences except for clicking the refresh button a few times.

A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.

I've been kicked for that reason several time, and nothing has happened as a consequence.

It's a shame because I love base idling.

I'm pretty sure there's no consequence. My first experience of it was back in 4.84, when I had to transport a Fleet admiral and a set of VIPs from Bretonia to the edge of Liberty, where the LN would pick him up. Of course, the LN were waylayed by pirates of some description and so I had to wait on a border station for 40 minutes at least, so I was kicked 4 times in a row, as I didn't want someone to scan me and request the admiral.

It's basically so that, on a saturday night for example, there aren't some ~20 people taking up slots by sitting on bases, while people are waiting for events and the like.

Really? I thought you only got kicked if you were completely idle, as in not clicking any buttons or anything. I know if I land at a base and go out for a cigarette, I'll often find myself kicked when I get back, but I've spent, like, half an hour at a base trying to decide what gun to buy or whatever and not been kicked.
