Prologue

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am pleased to inform you about the announcement of the newly formed research group "Deep Space Research".

First of all, let me give you some information about myself.

My name is Dr. Richard Batsbak.

I have a PhD in Astrophysics and have spent most of my life researching all sorts of seemingly insoluble phenomena in our sector.
The journey through space has always fascinated me, but I am also interested in advanced technology, other life forms and the like.
Therefore, I have made it my life's mission to explore the mysteries of space, to observe them and reveal their secrets.

That is why I am now looking for people with similar interests and who want to collaborate and discover the secrets of space together.

So this group was founded.
It is supposed to be an independent institution for all those who want to do research, who want to develop freely and who do not want to be bound to the regularities of big companies.
Therefore, I invite all those to which this description applies to consider this offer and together solve the mysteries of space.

If you want to have a look at the possibility of this offer, you will find all kinds of information about this organization under the different points.

I hope to hear from you soon.

With the greatest respect

History

Early 829A.S.

Deep Space Research is my attempt to establish an independent institution to advance research and development in Sirius without being bound by corporate regularities.

In this way also projects shall get the possibility to be worked out, which otherwise would rather meet with rejection. As long as the projects are morally justifiable and serve science.

Mid 829A.S.

The first acquisition of the organization was the research vessel "New Horizon".
This converted Bustard-class carrier is the most important ship of the organization as it is used as a mobile research facility and test platform for experimental equipment.

You can find more details in the tab Headquarters And The Fleet.

Late 829A.S.

Work has begun on the Arnberg Research Station in the New Berlin System.
This research station will serve as headquarter for the organization.
It was built in cooperation with several construction companies, all of which are experts in their field.

In addition to state-of-the-art laboratories and high-performance equipment, the station also offers conference rooms and quarters for the staff.

You can find everything else about the station in the tab

Early 830A.S.

Further expansion of the Arnsberg research station.
Upgrade of the fleet by various ships.

Start of public announcements related to the search for employees.

Headquarters And The Fleet

The Headquarter

Arnsberg Research Institute

The station was built to enrich Rheinland with a public research station, creating a hotspot of knowledge and progress.
As one of the newest facilities of its kind, it offers everything your heart desires.
From state-of-the-art laboratories and workshops to spacious conference rooms, everything can be found here.
For example, there are opportunities to research, build and test new types of drives.
Separate areas make it possible to work with new materials, even if they are radioactive or otherwise harmful to health.
State-of-the-art servers allow the analysis and prediction of trajectories of various cosmic objects and can also be used to simulate and predict physical events.
Discussions are currently underway with the government of Rheinland to test various prototypes outside the station.
The construction of further facilities and research satellites is also currently being planned.

The station serves as the starting point for our explorations and expeditions into the unknown territories of Sirius.

The Fleet

The flagship : New Horizon

Our flagship for research and testing. A civilian carrier of the Bustard class.
Internally, the ship was rebuilt so that as much eqiupment as possible can be installed or loaded.
This is at the expense of the armor, which is negligible. Furthermore, its scanners offer the highest range and the highest accuracy of the entire fleet.
On board, the data from various measurements of the internal and external devices can be processed.
Due to its size, there is enough space to accommodate personnel and to store supplies for longer expeditions.
Due to its powerful power generator, it can run even the most consuming equipment without any problems.

This is the ship on which our prototypes will be tested for the first time.

The long-term research and observation vessel : Oberservator

The Observatory is used for long term observation or as a support ship for the New Horizon.
In this role she takes over the supply and accommodation of the personnel.
The base for this ship is a L-584-B "Oasis".
This was also converted internally for our needs.
Here, however, more attention was paid to making the accommodation of the personnel as comfortable as possible, especially for long stays on board. For this reason, the passenger compartments were kept as typical for this series.

Our scout and transporter : Cosmos

This Dunlin class ship does not have large-scale research facilities like other ships in the fleet, but it is faster, more maneuverable and more durable than the others.
It is mainly used to explore asteroid fields or gas filled nebulae.
Its strong armor also makes it particularly resistant to radiation.
Since there is no research equipment installed, the cargo hold can be used to transport equipment or findings from one location to another.
We also use it to deliver supplies to other ships on excursion.

Our new addition : Perseverance

The newest acquisition is a Kusari Explorer called Perseverance.

Its main task will be the cartography of new systems and planets.

The first mission of this ship is still in planning and is currently in transit from Kusari to New Berlin.

The Research

My current research is related to the exploration of new technologies to travel through the Sirius sector.

Currently I am working on a project which is making good progress and which is currently under the code name "New Horizon".
This project will be made public as soon as I am ready with the work and feel that it is time to make it public.

Also the research of nomadic technology takes a part of the resources available.
But these will be intensified as soon as the corresponding approvals from Rheinland have been given.

Now you come into play.
You are of course also encouraged to do your research here and thus unite a wide range of various subjects.

The research projects will be presented here and the results will be published.

We want to cover all possible research areas.
From geology to biology, from mathematics to physics, but also smaller and lesser known sciences should find their place here.

The Future

At the moment some points are in work. Here are the most important points listed:

Recruitment of new employees and scientists.

Expansion of the research facilities of the station.

Expansion of the fleet.

Establishment of a security department and logistics unit.

Cooperations with governments and companies to finance the research.
