4.6 Remember that Discovery is a roleplaying server. Factions and faction members (just like all other players) are obliged to act in the way their reputation and status require. Factions are expected to set an example in role-play.
5.11 Using F1 in a PvP fight, as well as in any other situations that involves player interactions, is not allowed.
This includes jumping back and forth through a gate or jumphole to avoid combat, or being pirated.
If you lose server connection during a player interaction, you should get back in game quickly to continue the
interaction, with the other player's permission. If that is not possible, then post on the forums and PM the
players involved.

Consequences: Fined all credits and guns

Notes: Don't F1.

Also Disco is a roleplaying server and if your character really has a deathwish you should really have deleted it the first time it died. There's no RP in telling the pirate to kill you because you don't want to pay him. You've not been sanctioned for it, but rest assured next time you do it, expect problems.

Also Disco is a roleplaying server and if your character really has a deathwish you should really have deleted it the first time it died. There's no RP in telling the pirate to kill you because you don't want to pay him. You've not been sanctioned for it, but rest assured next time you do it, expect problems.

i am the player that was sanctioned, although im not sure what incident this is about due to the fact that my computer shuts down at random sometimes when i am in space. There was an incident in galileo i believe where the pirate did not make any demands after my cargo was destroyed. The player simply kept destroying my guns I suppose in order to inflict maximum damage. I knew i could not escape, it didnt seem in RP that he continued to fire at me, so i figured i was going to be killed so encouraged him to do so just to get it over with. It was at that point that my computer restarted. Anyhow, although this is a bummer because i try to adhere to the rules as much as possible, my main concern was that I had a ton of stuff in my cargo that has now disappeared. I know I was sanctioned credits (which were a lot) and guns, but why is my cargo also gone? I dont really think i was completely in the wrong for asking the pirate just to kill me instead of shooting my guns off for several minutes just to be a jerk. Seems unfair i lose a week of progress after the incident instead of just what i had at the time of the incident.

According to you your computer shuts off during firefights, at least that's waht you told the pirate. Mighty convenient and also unprovable. Precedent suggests we treat that as F1ing, so we do.

i said it shuts off sometimes at random as well, but granted, i cannot prove it. Its an issue with overheating on my laptop if you must know. I have tried to remedy the situation with undervolting, but there are bugs.

my main point is that the player did not continue conversation but simply kept shooting at my player ship for several minutes without responding to my requests to please just end the situation. He seemed very talkative afterwards but still did not explain what he was doing. It was frustrating and confusing, as I had never been in that kind of situation before.

I will not argue the fine, although just as an observation I believe it would be more fair to fine a player what he had earned at the time of the incident, instead of waiting a week or so to eliminate all of a player's savings since that point. I spent many hours building up credits after the incident with no knowledge of a sanction and it was all for nothing?

I know you dont care if you lose players this way, but It does dampen my enthusiasm to continue.
