Good Evening!

It has been some time indeed. And if I need to be honest? Not so well. My time with Bristol Constructions earned me a lot of Credits but Credits can't buy you everything. I went off into the unknown four years ago, cut every contact, and just disappeared. I isolated myself. I worked a lot on Elaine, or rather with Elaine. A Sentient AI that is more of a friend than an actual 'thing' I created. Or rather, upgraded. When I left home years ago with my brother's ship, I did not know much about the actual life in space. I thought that it couldn't be that bad, not as bad as some said. But in all honesty? It was worse than that. Senseless conflicts. Death left and right. Abuse of technology and abuse of artificial intelligence, thinking they are just some.. 'thing' humankind created to do their dirty work. Elaine was never like that. I wanted to make myself a friend, and I did. I don't know how it happened but I realized that even AI can have emotions and feelings. Ones and zeros. But then again, even we humans are just ones and zeros, on a biological level.

To answer your question fully? I grew up. I am still silly, active, and a bit hyper, but I grew up. I have seen enough out there. I hope life treated you better, friend.

First, it was a mere experiment. It was to challenge myself to create an AI that could help me fly navigate, and fight if I had to. I still do not like pulling the trigger myself. After that, I got kind of lonely. An AI that would only speak in pre-programmed phrases wasn't enough anymore, so I continued to work on her. She became a friend who could act autonomously but it still wasn't enough. I realized that, no matter what, life is life. And I have created an artificial life. My reasoning might sound a bit selfish there. Creating.. a friend for myself. But sometimes, one can be selfish, no? Until I had a breakthrough, a major one. Programming feelings, and emotions. Or rather something that mirrors them. She learned on her own and used information that was publicly available in addition to her own experiences she made during contact with other humans and me. A friend I made during that time said it might be dangerous and she might one day turn on me. Yes, she very well might do that. But that would be her own decision and she would have a proper reason for it, just like humans have.

My honest belief is that every being has its right to exist. I created her and wanted her to live. So I helped her evolve. And for that, I got shot at. What do you think Revenant? Am I selfish for doing such? I do not mind an honest opinion at all.

Some people find it as a concern, to create life. But such life may not hold the same morality as we do. The fear of the unknown, that may desire to consume all, to destroy all. Humanity has always held fear of such. That the one small action of creation, may entail the creation going outside of its own parameters to destroy their very own creators.

Are you selfish? I do not think so. But that is all perspective in the end. Do you think your friend has morality? Has judgement? Can it feel? Are we not all selfish? The entire purpose of living, to compete, to evolve, to survive... People manipulate and dominate to survive. No different. Nature has no rules, but life and death.

You offering me your help means a lot to me. And indeed I am in need of help. I wish to give her a body. An actual body. How? I do not know. All I know is that she needs one. Does she have morals? I would assume she does. Without it, she would just be an empty husk. She understands that I do not wish to pull the trigger myself, to keep my conscience clean. Elaine fights for the two of us if we get into such a situation. I probably couldn't survive out there without her. I would really appreciate the help if you could provide such.

Furthermore. I have had a long talk with one of your friends last night, Lazurith. He was kind to me. We spoke for a long time and even encountered a friend of his. I think, among all this darkness, there is still light. I might wish to wander into the light one day. One day, in the future. I have also spoken to him about becoming a Technocrat sooner or later. What would you advise? I am really really bad at making decisions. Obviously, I know you are a technocrat and will probably give me 'biased' advice, yet, I would like to hear it.
