Pillow however claims that the latest hotfix somehow nerfed GBs, but I don't know if that changes mission difficulty

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

npcs have always been like this
they pick a target and dont let go until that target is out of range or dead

also i nerfed gunboat npcs in the most recent hotfix Smile)

i never actually tested it but hearing it from other people its significantly more manageable

basically what i did was make them stop shooting 24/7 and instead take a break sometimes to stop being so oppressive

Didn't know what was nerfed, all I know is they had cruiser turrets and fighting them head on you'd die in a milisecond.

What I did: 1.I went to shoot them for a bit seeing how much I can clump them together, then shield ran because there's no bomber in the game that can withstand the damage they put out.
2. My partner found out that shooting them they disperse and turn on him( which is how he died) so he opted no to shoot until they were low and he'd just end them basically
3. I flew in a semi circle to clump them up and stay at a range between 1000m - 1800m so they kept shooting me , while my partner stayed around 500m so they would shoot mines(which is majority of the damage done to them) because they acknowledge him (look at the turrets shooting him)
4. With a lot of shieldrunning and patience we did it on our first try, I survived on half a bar of hull Big Grin oh and reminder you can't go far away from mission waypoint as the mission commision man gets angry.
So I had to fly in to them from time to time (very dangerous do not recommend).

I do not recommend fighting them head on as they are very oppressive as 2 bombers, would like to see more people try this out and see how others fare.

not cruiser turrets, gunboats have storm fwgs

the primary issue here is the npc mines triggering off of allies
which i can also try to fix

this isnt much cheesing and more just playing freelancer how freelancer is played, you can do the exact same thing to npcs in a pure vanilla server, except you dont need to because those are pushovers lol

What i learn with this? ... a Gunboat mission can be easily done with 2 players as long the gunboats shoot their mines to blow the shields and weaponry of their own allies, making it easier to withstand and that gunboats can mount crusier turrets jsjsjs

Except in the previous patch, the NPCs would split up targets in a group.

Even when you had NPC allies in a mission, two NPCs will always come for you and when you killed one of the two NPCs, they will send one from the group fighting ally NPCs to target you, always maintaining two ships fighting you.
