The more pressing problem in Liberty is the pirate Gunboat situation, Capitals can be ordered to stop if there is a gank going on, but I see no mercy from unlawful's attacking fighters in a fleet of Gunboats, thus you get introduced to bombers and when none are available, Capitals.. Quite easy to pull a fight away from Capital support.
And why is it always New York? Spread out through Liberty, have an escape route pre-planned too. What you are seeing is an esculation of Liberty indie Capitals in response to large missile Gunboat fleets of pirates. Solution is don't all come in Gunboats, mix it up. A Capital class ship larger than a Gunboat is not really a threat to a properly flown fighter/bomber.
' Wrote:It isn't as easy as "not engaging" considering THEY engage first... Read it properly thanks...
Well, sir, I will tell you I can read quite fine at a college level. I find that quite pleasing to myself. 15k is a long way away, and even a Barghest can dodge on thrusters. It isn't that hard.
' Wrote:The 'problem' if you could call it that is not just with the Liberty Navy, but also with in the Outcast/Liberty Rogues/Lane Hackers/Indie Pirates.
If you're prancing around NY in your Gunboat shooting anything that moves and pirating traders willy nilly EXPECT THE LIBERTY NAVY TO RESPOND
And I say this as a person who is a fanatic Liberty Rogue. Pirates should not be making a fuss and attracting lawful attention, you should be hiding in the shadows, pouncing on traders, then slinking back into the darkness before the Police catch a wiff of your scent.
It is fully with in the Roleplay of the Liberty Navy to kill you off. Fairplay it is not, but then how is 6 unlawful Gunboats and a Barghest vs 1 fighter fair either?
You reap what you sow.
He raises a fine point. I have been pirated in a Starflier in Liberty before, by a Gunboat, a Barghest, and a Greyhound in the same group, no less, and then, strangely enough, another group of the same configuration attempted to do it to the same character again in California. Honestly, screaming fairplay at this point is kind of silly.
Do you lot have lawfuls? It's just as, if not harder, to play lawfuls sometimes...
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
Quote:Nah that wasn't us. But also. I think the Traders know that they will get tapped for cash and it's complete RP. It's what all pirates do right?
Guys, something needs to be done about this.
THIS IS NOT FAIR.
I trade around 2 hours everyday. I know that most people on this server think that trading is boring, but really, it is the only thing that I can enjoy on this server. But this has been getting out of control. Normally, I have a chance against a bomber or a heavy fighter, but this gank is getting out of control.
Traders have no chance to retaliate against these pirates in liberty. They come out, and gank you with Tridentes and barghests, and you have no choice but to pay.
Something needs to be done.
That, is how traders feel.

Are you talking about the official faction which I run, the [LN]? Or are you talking about the various independant ships flying around.
Using the term 'LN' is something I'd rather you didn't do if you're refering to individuals outside my faction. Please use the term 'independant LN', just to avoid confusion and needless agro if you're not talking about the [LN].
If however you are talking about members of my faction, then please give me the details of the situation.
SirSlicey, that very scenario (Six gunboats and a barghest vs one fighter) happened today.

I think I'm talkin' more the Indys, the [LN] likes to keep to bombers... Apparently...
Hahahahaha! I laughed for a good twenty seconds, then fell out of my chair because I couldn't breathe.
I don't suppose you were one of the eight pirate gunboats and three bombers prancing around New York earlier today while the Navy were fighting Rheinland, Sircian? I seem to recall that they at seperate times engaged a lone Mercenary bomber, then a lone BHGunship, each time with all their numbers and without holding back. They then realised how many missiles they had between them and went to mow down the LN who were on their way back to Houston to repair after their victory. And yet still got raped.
Both sides do it. Get over your Law Complex and join the other side instead of whining, and experience it for both. That goes for most of Liberty's independent pirates too. If somebody could post a Shoop Da Whoop, prefferably saying something along the lines of: 'I'mma charging my lazor beams!' I would be greatful, because that's the mood I find myself in.
' Wrote:All liberty lawfuls are cap abusers? Riiiight.
The LPI. They fly light fighters and bombers. When I say light fighters, I mean they use patriots to start with.
The [LN] well... The entire [LN] knows what I'll do to them if they overkill folks.
The =LSF=. I don't think I've seen an LSF cap at any point in the last 7 months.
Also, Killa Kanga, I seem to remember you fly a gunboat a lot. Is that not a cap of some sort?
EDIT: You can't really appreciate what being a lawful in liberty is like until you've done it. Today for instance while the [LN] was off having an event in Hudson with the RM there were half a dozen rogue/oc/hacker gunboats flying round Liberty slaughtering everything they saw, be it a xeno bomber on it's own or a couple of navy fighters.
Every 15 seconds you're rushing to a new emergency. Someone else shouting for help somewhere. Another report of pirates near the california gate, an LR dessie near west point. It literally -never- stops. Ever.

There was an attempted swarm of gunboats set out to gank anything in their path today. Atleast 8 gunboats and 4 barghests when Lib Lawfuls got to them, they had already entered into an engagement with guess what? ONE FIGHTER.
I Really Hope that is ENOUGH SAID.
Edit: Liberty Capitals generally take orders to disengage once the enemy is down to just fighters or other small ships. Pirate Gunboats however, will swarm and fire until whoever their target dies, or they die themselves.
