Established by the Order in the aftermath of the Nomad war, it was constructed deep inside the Nomad system, in 808AS.
In the initial survey, the Order scouts found Core vessels prowling around an asteroid field. After engaging and either destroying or chasing off the vultures, the Order ships discovered a structure in the center of the field, supposedly of Nomad origin or older.
When Order High Command reviewed the reports, it was decided that a second Nomad War was out of the question and an observation outpost was required to maintain surveillance over the Nomads, the Nomad structure and Core incursions into Omicron Iota.
The Order agents inside IMG were informed to start scouting for specialized engineers and equipment; meanwhile the agents inside Ageira and Daumann were informed of a request for certain parts and materials.
Using an Asteroid Miner, construction machinery and the best of IMGs engineers, a large asteroid was hollowed out and reinforced to sustain a station of up to 5000 crew.
The IMG engineers showed ingenuity in creating a honeycomb interior of ultradurable titanium beams that expands and supports a shell of ablative armor plating at the exterior of the asteroid. An overcoat composed of ground up asteroids from the field was used to conceal the base and a system of distortion arrays was mounted to hide it from both Nomad and Core ships and scanners.
Now the Outpost is the first bridgehead into the Nomad worlds, used to survey, observe and research the Nomad structure and the Nomad organisms, to provide overwatch for any Nomad threats or any Core plunder incursions.
