A Coalition Hurricane with a slightly modified Junker ID, allowing for the engagement of Core and Order vessels in the Omicrons, and disallowing the ship's docking in House Space like Zoner capships.
3. Character's name, ship name and affiliation:
Character: Doidld Tyatsmr
Ship: TRCC-JCV-Tarancon
Affiliation: Junker (unfriendly to Core and Order)
4. Why is this request necessary for the continuation of this character's roleplay?:
In line with his beginnings as a joke character, Doidld is meant to embody some vague idea of Soviet Anarchist, as the only real SCRA representation at the time was Russians roleplaying as bootleg USSR, and I thought the idea of a Junker congress was the worst thing you could do with Junkers at that time and wanted to do the exact opposite. Also, I identified some passing thematic similarities between the Junker Marauder logo and the Ukranian Black Army flag. It's largely color, but the skull theme was included as well.
As time went on, Doidld evolved from being a joke character to being an interesting social symbol to me. What you want to be and how you present yourself are not necessarily what you are. I gave him a bit of background development to settle his place in my overall narrative, and at that point we reached the beginning of 5.0. Tarancon was suddenly gone, abandoned and dead due to the retreat of the Thebes. I sat down one day to rationalize how Doidld, for whom that was home, would have reacted.
My ships belonging to him were still docked there at the time, so I roleplayed him as being one of the last ones left. He was now a fairly homeless wanderer, which wasn't uncommon for Junkers, but was a shock for him. He came to hate the Order and the Core. He believes, and will tell anyone who listens, that Order and Core are warlords, and the Order is the worse one because they are liars. They are not humanity's shield, he witnessed that firsthand, they refused to shield Tarancon against the very alien threat they claim to fight. They are an empire trying to claim moral high ground by saying they're not an empire, in his eyes.
Since he's still built on that original joke character, he had to have a response that fit his theme. "They have big guns, I get big guns blyat". Hence this arc with the Coalition Battlecruiser. The Tsar FWGs are some pretty big guns.
5. What short-term and long-term goals are you planning to achieve on this character?:
Fixing up the ship: Colored in terms of how reasonable/non-bullshit I think it is. Closer to red is worse, closer to green is better, and white is neutral.
Fix Armor > Cannibalize Tarancon Hull [Salvager named Lyudoyed means Cannibal, +1 Narrative] (Kinda offscreened, as I didn't really think anyone wanted to be bothered with that RP.)
Fix Propulsion > Cannibalize Capship Wrecks in Minor [What Tarancon was there to do previously, +1 Narrative] (Handled by our local Christmas Miracle)
Fix Energy System > (Omicron Minor Salvage)
Fix Interior Crew Spaces > (Same as above)
Fix Interior Armor and Superstructure > (Triple Kill)
Fix Reactor Core > (Obtained a decrepit salvage one from Coalition. Will rework and tune it to better suite the long range mobile base needs of Junkerman.)
Fix FWG > (Need some outside force's help with this to rework the FWG into a niche tool.)
Obtain Crew > (Other Omicron Junkers? Coalition onboarders to make sure Coalition secrets aren't lost to enemies while Doidld works hard to remove or make obsolete the remaining Coalition secrets.)
Retrofit Weaponry [Or obtain Junker Battlecrusier Primaries (Ideal)] > (Use what's on the ship right now, but Junker Battlecruiser primaries would be cool)
Short term:
Bring interest back to the pirate, cutthroat mafia Junker roleplay. I never liked the lawful powertrader Junkers, I think Sirius would benefit from Junkers having the mafia-type dark businessman aesthetic I think they were intended to have.
Explore more fully an idea that I thought about a few months ago when I started this process: "What was the actual Sol Coalition ideal? What would that look like showing up in Sirius today?" I've run the idea past Jammi that Sirius Coalition should have a very stark difference in attitude from the Sol Coalition.
To have a character that embodies Sol Coalition even closer than Sirius Coalition, despite not really being Coalition.
Try my hand at roleplaying charismatically enough to have a cult of personality. I've been doing some art studying on my own about Constructivist art style, and soviet propaganda techniques, especially related to pride and group identity. I'm not necessarily intending to make a faction (as I already lead a faction and there's that OF change upcoming sometime), but I want to see if I can make a character with a personality that glows enough to have people want to follow him.
Long term:
Bring back the FWGs as an option for the Hurricane, as a replacement for heavy weapon slots. The current Tsar FWG idea that I'm throwing around in my head is a very long range, very slow, very efficient Avalanche. Zero gun aiming, so you must face your target head on. Another idea I had in mind was the ability to siege without ammo, and with it's long range, from outside PoB platform range. The inspiration for most of this was the Opening Cutscene, where those pretty slow-moving shots are used to destroy the Alliance base from orbit. Also, it just never stopped firing. A rain of pain.
Sell the above to SCRA as like a PoB constructed ship or something.
Give the Order another problem in the Omicrons. The sheeple are finally waking up and realizing you don't have to lick Order toes just because Nomads scary.
Expand this character into something interesting and impactful for anyone acting in the Omicrons.
Probably develop a different engine. As seen in the Opening Cutscene, the Coalition engine is that flat yellow back. I requested the Hasta engine because it is quite literally a Junker snub engine simply upscaled, but the flame is still extraordinarily small compared to the massive exhausts on the actual ship.
Get another Junker NPC base in the Omicrons. Somehow someway.
6. Provide links to relevant roleplay and a quick summary for each:
8. How long has this character been building its backstory?
Since about February 13th, 2020, so nearly 5 years. However, I've redone some things because the old version was a little too overdone to be funny. You'll notice that the accent disappeared. He worked on it really hard.
9. If you feel that you would like to provide us with character references, specify whom.
I'm not entirely sure how to read this part, but if you mean characters that got involved with mine, Kyle Vaughn who originally started the Voltaics, and the characters that show up in the roleplay threads. Otherwise, there is this discord for the budding faction.
I'll do something about my superiority complex when I cease to be superior.
"Whatever happened to catchin' a good old-fashioned passionate ass-whoopin and gettin' your shoes, coat, and your hat tooken?"
TRCC-JCV-Tarancon is a modified and refurbished battlecruiser crewed largely by disgruntled remnants of Junkers from Omicron Minor. The crew, along with the captain Doidld Tyatsmr, hold resentment against the Core and Order for what they view as a betrayal and abandonment in Minor, and have taken to the borders of civilized space with a more piratical, cutthroat approach to regular Junker business.
This Independent Quasilegal SRP ID is used by TRCC-JCV-Tarancon, who:
- Can attack Hogosha and Xenos.
- Can attack Core and Order combat ships in the Omicrons
