At 00:49 hours SST, Blue 3 and 4 located debris matching the composition of our probe within Omega-11's sector D7. Thermal damage and metal fatigue of the debris suggests that a plasma weapon was used to destroy the probe. Spectrographic analysis of the debris is inconclusive thanks to contamination from the Omega-11's volatile star, the nature or manufacture of the plasma weapon cannot be determined. However, no debris containing polymer materials commonly found within optronic storage drives has been detected by Blue Squadron's nor the Khonsu's deep scanners. It is possible the drive had been obliterated, or removed entirely from the probe prior to its destruction. This cannot be ascertained at this time given the evidence I have access to. It is also possible that the optronic components of the probe have simply drifted out of range, but given the drift pattern, I cannot state this possibility with great certainty.
Proximity to the Baxter anomaly's gravity well has however trapped a small amount of particles not commonly found in the Omega-11 star system. The source of the particles and lingering ion trail is inconclusive, however, analysis is consistent with a PTE style fusion motor commonly manufactured by BMM within Bretonia. The only way the particles could have been deposited in this amount was if the drive was large enough to power a gunboat or larger type of vessel, given the intense stellar activity present in the sector. Given the remote location away from the only corporate infrastructure in the region, it is unlikely the drive residue was left by commercial shipping. My fully detailed report will be forwarded to Lieutenant Carter in intelligence for further analysis. I advise contacting local assets and cross referencing their data with ours on the matter.
We've made contact with the Atum's CAG and have been informed of her situation. It seems that the vessel took heavy damage while attempting to chase down the Wyoming, and she's been left in dire straights and has gone to ground while she tries to limp back home. As for the Wyoming itself, the Atum's CAG reports that she's vanished into the Guerrero Asteroid Cloud in the Vespucci system, the field's metallic content and spatial anomalies made tracking the ship a challenge and contact was lost with her approximately twenty two minutes into the pursuit into Vespucci. Our long range probes do not show any ship signatures or energy profiles matching the Wyoming proceeding through the Omega-55 corridor, and it is likely that she's still hiding in the Guerrero. However there is a non-zero chance that the Wyoming will attempt to link up with Rheinland infected personnel soon given the proximity to the Omega systems.
The Atum's CAG has sensor data confirming the heavy presence of Nomads and suspected infected vessels within Ontario. Intel however suggests that these were the subtype of Nomads codenamed "Vagrants" which emerged from the Taus and not the Omicron breed we've had the most experience dealing with. Lt. Carter in intelligence will be analyzing the combat data we have access to. In the meantime, the Khonsu take on a full supply load from the Respite at Bruchsal, and we will deploy to monitor the Omega access corridor. Should the Wyoming or the Wild forces attempt to move through the region, we will be in a position to monitor their activity and intercept if the opportunity presents itself.
Following the lead from one of our probes, the Khonsu's moved deep into the Kielfeld in order to begin analysis of the Von Albrecht. The liner's disappearance during the blackout crisis was concerning for local authorities, however the state of her wreckage reveals a worse fate than a mere hijacking. Analysis is still ongoing. The away team has reported the discovery of only one body, a single crewman, who was discovered sealed in auxiliary cargo C. His knife is being brought back for analysis. The absence of the passengers and crew's bodies is another matter entirely. Given the location, it's likely the ship went dark under the same circumstances as the Trier. Or, the Trier was directly responsible for the fate of the Von Albrecht. Neither possibility puts my mind at ease.
Chief Forbes has expressed some concerns with the inert dark matter cloud the wreckage had been moved to. The ability of the cloud to absorb and refract our sensor sweeps means we can't see anything coming our way. However this field varies from the ones seen in the likes of Galileo and Alberta. It's energy levels are practically null on our sensors, and the fog itself seems to block almost all radiation from passing through after approximately twenty two hundred meters of material. Thankfully, this also means that so long as we're within, we're effectively hidden during our work. Lieutenant Cooper has taken a second team into the ship to conduct a thorough forensics analysis. A report will be forwarded to Overwatch with any conclusive results. I've given their teams another twenty four hours to secure scans and samples before we move on. I fear we may have pinged the Rheinland sensor networks on our way through Berlin, and I don't intend to stay in one spot for longer than necessary.
