Breaking News: Fire aboard Puerto del Sol
Nova Magerit -Buenos diaz viewers
Tragedy struck today at around 1630 local Cretan time, as a fire broke out on The Brotherhoods station, Puerto del Sol, claiming the lives of 7 workers, and injuring several more. An investigation is being run into how the fire started, as it is currently unknown exactly, though we do known it started in the older portions of the aging station. The names of the lost have not yet been publicly released, but we are told that their familias have been notified, so that funeral rites may be observed. Elder Vasquez, of The Brotherhood had this to say:
"We are all greatly saddened by the loss of the lives of our hermanos, and I swear upon the honour of The Brotherhood that we find how this fire started, and see that measures are out in place to prevent it happening again. One thing is clear however, Puerto del Sol has gone through many iterations and repurposings, and she is showing her age. I will be personally bringing an argument to the rest of the Elders of The Brotherhood, and the Council of Elders, to further invest and develop Puerto del Sol, so that she may serve El Imperio for many years to come, working tireless to improve the lives of every Corsair Citizen."
Muchos Gracias for your words, Elder Vasquez. Puerto del Sol latest renovation saw it incorporating several new cutting edge modules, including a shipyard to assist Tripoli, an exotic material refinery, established with the help of scientists from Evia, dissecting enemy wrecks to find their strengths and weaknesses, as well as a weapon forge, crafting the strongest of weaponry for our brave pilots to strike down our enemies, a smeltery, to melt down any salvaged wrecks into raw materials, to be fed back into El Imperios war machine, and finally, an artifact distribution center, where artifacts are packed and processed for transport in unassuming containers to be shipped beyond the unfair embargoes of our small-minded enemies into the colonies. Puerto del Sol is truly an economic hive of activity, and an important sign of the strength, resilience and honour of the Corsair People.
What exactly will be next for the venerable old station is up for debate, depending on how many pesos the Elders decide to grant the station for the upgrades it needs to remain productive. Stay tuned for our next segment, where economist Gibraldo Montoya breaks down the numbers on what the station could do for an given budget size.
