Hey everyone, haven't played for a good while because of lack of internet access, but I just got a Logitech Extreme3dPRO joystick from a friend and it's properly calibrated, but I can't figure out how to get it to work in FLD.
You're not an idiot, Joysticks just don't work in FL to my knowledge, or at least they're hard to do everything with. Microsoft didn't want everyone to think they needed one, so they made if Mouse and Keyboard. But hey, theres probably someway to do it.

There are... but from what I hear they simply do not work very well.
I've experimented with XPadder a few times, but the reaction times are too slow for my taste. If I had a left-handed joystick though, I'd seriously fiddle with it to get it working properly.

i was able to get a joystick to work with freelancer, one of those nice ones from best buy. It worked but it was not analog. They supply you software where you can edit your controls for games that dont support joysticks. You can bind positions to certain keys but again, for moving up and down and so forth, you have to bind the joystick somewhere in the middle and its all on/off mode, not analog so you're flying, you move the control up a little bit, it does nothing, once you pass a certain position, its going up as if you pressed a button on the keyboard that rotates the ship up. It was just too tough to play freelancer like that so i returned the joystick. Playing flight simulator was very nice though but still who the hell plays flight simulator for more than half an hr? That game is boring as hell. But just a bit of a review on the joystick, it was very nice, tons of keys, tons of settings, LCD light up display that allows you to configure different settings for different games, a lot of the keys light up blue, it's very good stuff.
