Subject: Part II: Report series on the Status of the Insurgent Remnant Fleet: Battleship Fretensis Tags:TS//NRL//NALLY Assignment: Agent#49601 "Victor Charlie" Authorization: Liberty Security Force, Office of Naval Intelligence, Liberty House Permanent Committee on Intelligence
Mister Chairman, esteemed members of the Committee,
Here I present to you the final report in the series on the whereabouts of Insurgent ships - those not marked as KIA in previous skirmishes, or during their last stand in Vespucci. This report concerns a particularly odd and concerning case, the unknown status of the Arbiter-class vessel the INS-Fretensis.
Precedence: Immediate To: LSF Headquarters From: Agent VC, stationed aboard LNS-[Redacted], Inverness System. Case ID: 590V-VS-5021634 Title: Final Report on the Battleship Fretensis
In the hunt for the remaining Insurgency members, HQ has made finding their remaining brass priority alpha. The Battlecruiser [Redacted] has been dispatched to Inverness, as our agents primary hub and reporting center, as stationing directly on Freeport 14 was deemed by Command to be too risky to our operation.
Suspected former Insurgency pilots have been thought to be present in the employ of dozens of organizations across Sirius, with the Zoner Freeports being their prime places of refuge - at these installations, those on the run can buy basic supplies, make contact with those with the expertise to piece together repairs for their ships, and find employment with those who will not ask too many questions about their origins or whom they work for. As Freeport 14 is one of the nearest Zoner Freeports to the former Insurgent capital, it is only sensical that many fleeing the burning of Vespucci would first relocate here, before moving further afield. To the former point, the nearby Junker shipyard, designated "Invergordon" has been a prime location for reconnaissance, as it is capable of repair of very large vessels and the Junkers are known not to be picky who they do business with.
During my time embedded on Freeport 14, I witnessed countless numbers of shady dealings by unscrupulous actors of all stripes - Auxesians, suspected Lane Hackers, known Rogue outlaws, and even Outcasts, no doubt chasing the latest cardamine deals in hushed, furtive whispers. Many aboard the station are refugees from varying conflicts across the sector, though the most destitute are from Erie. These miscreants scrape out a living by doing whatever odd jobs they stumble upon. Often, these activities carry such risk that they are given to those whose whom absence is likely to go unnoticed and unquestioned, lest the consequences come to return to the sender. It is here, down in the deepest warrens where scum comes to fester, is where Command expects our detachment to find the big fish we are looking for.
Attempting to gather useful intelligence from the common Zoner or Junker is as foolish an errand as getting financial advice from cardamine addicts, however, I kept my ear the ground nonetheless. It was not long before my patience was rewarded - one loud-mouthed, larger-than-life Junker whom only goes by "Clive" to the dubious clientele of the Freeport was a prime target of my social engineering efforts.
