Prime Minister signs off new defense budget plans
New Tokyo - 03.07.835
Surprise meeting of the Diet concluded - Defense Budget to jump by factor two and a half within the next two years
In a session barred public access, the Kusari Diet came together during the early morning hours today to 'discuss matters of national security'.
For weeks now, our workers in the field noticed a sudden uptick in security concerns raised among policy makers and a frequent appearance of Naval Forces representatives going in and out the various Ministry Buildings.
Roughly an hour ago, the curtain was lifted and we were granted exclusive insight on the exact contents of todays historic decision making.
For our dear viewers, here the rundown of todays occurrences as overview:
The Sunrise Party called in an immediate Emergency Meeting at 2:26 am - a matter for which a party requires 35% of seats in the Chamber of Commons (45.78%, Sunrise Party).
Representatives of both Chambers gathered by 3:08am and the session began officially at 3:15am.
The Sunrise Party presented a threat analysis (details were withheld towards our editorial staff) and laid out plans for a new defense budget plan they have worked on together with representatives of the IAF for the past weeks.
At roughly 3:38am, six out of ten representatives of the Kusari Commoners Party left the hall in silent protest to an increased military spending.
The Chamber of Commons voted on the proposal with these results:
In Favor: 378 [Sunrise Party: 206/206 / Ninkyō Dantai: 148/148 / Kanawaga Agricultural Association: 21/24 / Kusari Commoners Party: 0/10 / Society of Progress: 0/26 / Liberals of Tokyo: 3/39]
Against: 66 [Kanagawa Agricultural Association: 3/24 / Kusari Commoners Party: 4/10 / Society of Progress 26/26 / Liberals of Tokyo: 36/39]
Invalid: 6 [Kusari Commoners Party: 6/10]
The motion passed the Chamber of Peers vote with 67/90 in favor of the proposal.
By 5:21am this morning, the new budget plan was signed into effect by Imperial Prime Minister Miyasu.
As per information provided by Sunrise representatives, the new budget plan permits for: "A vast modernization and expansion project of the IAF, primarily the IKN, in pursuit of long-term stability and intimidation of newfound threats to sector-wide stability."
Our analysts concluded that this sudden increase could lead to the establishment of two full sized Tokugawa-led groups within the next 3 years in addition to overhauls to the existing fleet. The exact steps to be taken remain a mystery, as the IAF refuses to comment on operational details as per usual.
Stay tuned for more!
Yours truly, Kuno Chiyuki, NTT
How gracious of our government to announce the addition of two full fleets of armed pleasure barges for our aging naval officers. I shall pray for them to live the short remainder of their lives in quiet comfort. Has the navy even done anything of use except invade Bretonian space for profit last year? I should hope they paid good sculptors to decorate their ships, at least. Perhaps it would at least charm the frequent Corsair traffic through Kusari to stop by and look, before they pilfer our resources.
Sugoi desu ne, more absurd defense spending that doesn't solve the issues plaguing our house - as if imperialism will do us any favors. Someone do me and the rest of our house a favor, and put Miyasu and the 'Sunset' party down like the fervent parasites on Kusari that they are. Maybe those Ouroboros, True Sons of Kusari or the Hideyoshis if they're still around will do a more competent job.

At last, our esteemed government is taking action to safeguard security in Kusari. Arrogant Gaijin press in on us from all sides -- Gallia and the Outcasts test our patience near Kyushu, the Corsairs approach Honshu, and now the overconfident Liberty dares to approach our frontier in Shikoku!
We must not allow our traditions -- our way of life -- to be taken from us by these barbarians!
How to spot a Sunset Party/KOI plant on the neural net:
Step one - note they have an exorbitantly high level of upvotes or likes.
Step two - note that they promulgate something absurdly in line with the state - xenophobia, misogyny, bigotry or keiretsu bootlicking that plays into stereotypical playing on fears of losing our culture and Kusari identity -- as if it lasting millenia to the terran Japanese Yayoi wasn't sign enough of its' stalwart resolve.
Step three - discard their opinion and regard the majority of their upvotes as KOI bots.
You got me to step three. I think I genuinely lost brain cells from reading your crass retort.
Edit: It seems the KOI also knows what the downvote button does. Subarashii desu ne. Maybe next time when they try to get the GMG to kill us, they can teach them that the funny little circle goes over the lead indicator, not over the spaceship. Idiots.
We want peace, our family ran from New Tokyo to Honshu! And now, the empereor will demand our sons to go to war, disgusting! My wife gave me thirteen beautiful sons, and they deserve a good, peaceful life, not to die in a Tanku god knows where!
