Guten abend.

We have recently been informed that you are producing a new ship design, called the "longhorn". Apparently, word has it, its rather sturdy. With a bit of a bite to it. As we are venturing deeper and deeper into unknown space, we find ourselves in need of such a ship, however while we are perfectly capable of manufacturing such a vessel ourselves, design, tooling and manufacturing will surely take months if not years, time we do not have.

As such, we would like to put down an order for three (3) such ships. All that is left to do is agree on a price. If there's anything we can provide to help expedite the process, please let us know. i do know we have a stockpile of parts somewhere.

Good day, Ms. Tost.

Appreciate you reaching out, I’m not exactly the high-up you'd usually talk to for this kind of thing, but your message came across my desk while I was sorting cargo logs and requisition queues for the Susquehanna runs, so I figured I’d at least make sure it doesn’t get stuck in someone’s inbox while the suits are arguing over sensor arrays and paint colors.

The Longhorn? Yeah, she’s real. Pretty damn sturdy, too. Designed mostly with independent ops in mind, the kind where your convoy might lose escort and still need to punch through. We’ve done a few tests runs already, and she’s taken more than her fair share of hits without even a scratch.

Three units, you say? That’s no small order, but it’s doable, more so if you’ve got a stockpile that can help close the gap on parts. With business booming lately, especially with Susquehanna handling a good chunk of borderworld runs and offloads from Baltimore, we’ve been stacked with orders, so anything you can ship our way would definitely speed things up.

According to what I can see, the entire batch of three would cost 27 million credits, since this qualifies for our 5% bulk discount, the new amount will come down to only 25.5 millions. Go ahead and send the money to our account, [DSE]Bank, if this seems acceptable to you and we'll start production as soon as possible.

Guten tag, Frau Prime

We are delighted to hear from you so soon. Three units are indeed no small order, however we're in need of venturing into deeper recesses of space, as such it is needed. There's one small hiccup, as you may know, we are not familiar with the ins'n'outs of this vessel, and our primary source of fuel is mox. Is there any chance we can make some adaptations?

I am sure our engineers can figure something out. As this is an additional change, we understand there may be some costs to help train our mechanics and engineers on how to operate and convert the vessel. If you would be willing to give an estimate on the time and cost of this, it'd be much appreciated.

As for the initial price of construction, we've transferred the funds.

Good Day, Ms. Tost,

Glad to hear the payment’s come through; a skeleton crew is already gearing up to deliver your order; you’ll hear from them shortly when they’re near.

As for the MOX compatibility… I’ll admit, that’s not really my area. I keep things moving, but when it comes to engine guts and fuel mixes, that’s best left to the folks who actually wear the goggles and weld things. Normally I’d pass this along, but right now our engineering folks are tied up with the current rush; Susquehanna’s been under the pump handling offloads from Baltimore and a flood of new borderworld contracts. It’s been non-stop..

That said, if there’s one thing I’ve learned working with them, it’s that they always figure something out. It may just require a little while before someone has the time to run the numbers or look at the specifics.

Thank you for taking the time to understand, and I'll be monitoring for any changes on my end.

Bloody MOX, ay?

Now, the Longhorn runs on good ol' reliable H-fuel, powering the XV-690 engine. Clean burn, minimal waste, no contamination, works wonders in the conversion to plasma for the fusion core. Pretty standard for most Libertonian vessels. We can't simply just throw MOX in instead- its a whole different kind of fuel source- fission. I can't speak much on its capabilities, but I would guess the Longhorn is big enough to make the conversion worth it.

Best plan I got so far is to strip out the whole XV-690 setup, and throw in a VP-series replacement. Ya'll always tout on about how versatile they are, so we should be able to get a configuration worked out that'll fit in there, and meet whatever specs you need- Long-range exploration sounded like what you're after. Probably want good fuel capacity, and an efficient burn rate then, without losing too much speed or handling.

If you can bring over some propulsion systems to Susquehana, we can get to work on fitting everything together. About 300 units total should be enough for all 3 ships you have ordered.
