My name is Pantalião Vascoguoncellos, acting on behalf of Bristol Constructions & Manufacturing.
Recently we received communications from one Michael Bartlertt, and I was then tasked with checking any possible rocks to see who and what this Mr Bartlertt represents. Thus far, he has merely presented himself as a leader for a small band of irregulars with roots in the Commonwealth and ties to Battlegroup Harmony. Personally, I would think there is more to that story than…merely that. Call it a hunch, but anyone claiming that has hid too hard or strayed too far from any original belief.
Any assistance or information would be greatly appreciated.
These self styled heroes of Liberty specialise only in self aggrandisement. They first betray their House, they then betray us, they even betray their own Commonwealth before reaching the only illogical crescendo of betraying humanity, and now they want to carry on the good fight?
One has to ask where the goodness is.
And if there ever was any.
I'd ask that you tell this lackey to take a hike but it's really up to you whether you feel this is worth the investment or not. I've given you my assessment of character and I'll go further and warn you that helping wayward warship captains of this caliber won't net you anything except the bad kind of attention.
In the interest of transparency I will say that he reached out to us for safe harbor and a new cause to serve. But there was little to no interest in either his crew or their ship. That's no surprise considering that their own admitted track record is terrible.
I would not, personally, cast illusions over that which I have not adequately studied; it simply is not my place. Yet I would agree that it overall seems difficult to assess the general state of this apparent former Commonwealth and his crew as anything good. At best, they left Liberty to found their own place, then left that place for ports and locations unknown. The first betrayal could have been rectified, but the second creates major questions and concerns. It is not a great thing.
And yet, I am not the one who would overall “tell this lackey to take a hike”. Call it pragmatism or cynicism, but after all even enemies have something they might offer unknowingly without being necessarily supported or even vaguely helped by Bristol. I merely am to see what is and what, maybe, can be.
Yet, I should ask…”wayward warship captains of this caliber”. What exactly do you mean by this? It has been to our information only that he has a small crew, nothing exactly about the caliber of captain or ship. Has he told you more than us?
The glorified stand-in sits at the helm of an Arbiter-class battleship. It's apparently configured for EWAR despite being a direct assault warship per the Legion's original manufacturing patterns. I never understood that little dichotomy in the design but it's not like they ever cared to consult us when it comes to doctrine.
I will let you know that I am meeting with a representative of Mr Bartlertt’s on Fortuna. I would suggest that, during our meeting, you inform the ground crew to give his ship a good look-over and possibly a little installation of the reporting type.
Destruction of this…free agent and his battleship may not be required just yet, but information is always useful in my experience.
