•The wing is fully subordinate to the 34th Brigade.
341ST STRIKE WING So-called: "Tau wing", "Cleaners" The 341st Strike wing "Tau" has been a unit of the 34th Brigade exclusively throughout its history and has been fully subordinate to its command. Formed in the distant year 831, this wing represented the best pilots of the Brigade, capable of not only carrying weapons, but also skillfully using them. With the number of agents growing, the 341st Wing is back in action to bring the fire of purification where it is needed. Only the veterans of the Brigade know what happened to previous Tau-wing. But things is moving, and it's time for new people in chairs of combat ships led by 34th Brigade. - "Remember what happened to Sasha? Remember what Tyler told us moments before he killed himself? And Robert? He set off a whole chain of psychosis, infecting ten other people. And they all attacked Tim, then dismembered him and killed themselves. All of these incidents... The ruins of Daam-K'Vosh defended themselves against us with our own help. We were just a toy in their hands, even though they weren't around at all."
341st Strike wing was probably the most loyal unit in The Order. The most loyal unit in the 34th Brigade.
They didn't care what sacrifices had to be made to bring victory on the battlefield. Every war involves losses. It would be foolish not to acknowledge this when standing at the holo-map and running the calculations. No being, not even the most advanced super-computer in the universe, can fight a single battle without suffering losses. No masterfully conducted "war game" between Order officers has ever ended without losses.
Someone has to die. Someone has to perform a heroic deed because someone else made a mistake. Such is the cruel reality: heroes are born in the crucible of wars that were fought because of someone else's mistake. Someone will perform a heroic deed on the battlefield, single-handedly defending a flank from superior forces. But someone allowed the superior forces to emerge. Someone lost on the map, and the other will pay for the loss in blood. The dispute of war is victory, and the stake of the dispute is someone's blood.
"Tau" Wing is the result of all this. When their first mentions appeared in the Brigade archives and Order reporting channels, it immediately became clear to everyone the purpose of the wing - battle. Heroic, bloody, merciless, suicidal, everyone will call it their own. The wing included the best pilots of the Brigade, capable of standing where no one else could.
Brigade veterans do not talk about this wing much. Because these veterans were the heroes of the Expedition, when the Brigade made the greatest mistake in its entire history.
Then-living had to heroically fight not with the Nomads but with the Tau Wing. Whatever the Daam-K'Vosh had prepared for the intruders was looking for a weakness in the Brigade when it arrived in The Outlands. And that "something" found a weakness in the 341st wing. The madness that turned into bloodbath and mass atrocities left their "imprint" on the souls of everyone who managed to return to the Sirius sector. After all, the Tau were the result of someone else's mistakes. But that mistake was over. Those pilots are no longer spoken of. Every body was found. Every death was documented. Every body was burned to make 100 percent sure that none of them would cause any more harm.
"Tau" wing no longer exists. Pilots have long since sunk into oblivion. But the memory of that time remains.
34th Brigade once again needed an instrument of war. Because someone is making mistakes again, and for such cases, heroes are needed. And they were found.
STORY
The need to create a combat unit within the 34th Brigade arose in 831 A.S., when ships sent to Sirius or Omicrons encountered resistance from outside groups or Nomads and their minions. The latter, as a rule, under the guise of House intelligence agents, passed information about "suspicious movements" into the hands of uninfected people. Of course, Brigade pilots had enough skills to counter threats. Another matter is when the supposed threat creates so many problems that traditional methods of self-defense cannot cope.
Something was needed that would act as a sword, crushing the enemies of The Order or distracting all attention to itself, while others do important work. Since the 34th Brigade was considered the largest unit of the "30th Pattern", it was not difficult to find volunteers. The mainstays were drawn from the Brigade's own personnel, particularly those who had once been part of the Order's 16th Strike Squadron. This led to the 341st Wing often (and jokingly) being referred to as the 116th Strike Squadron. Brigade pilots, who were mostly only capable of armed combat, found their place here.
They were given orders - they were sent where there was a need to suppress, distract or eliminate. Brigade HQ raised their sword and struck where it was needed. No mission of any importance was carried out without the 341st Wing, which drew all attention to one place, while agents and scientists in another gathered all the necessary information. If there was an obstacle in the Brigade or The Order path, Tau Wing was sent into the thick of it to eliminate it.
Perhaps the wing's most notable operation was the engagement with a major Nomad incursion into Omicron Zeta back in 832 A.S., when virtually the entire Brigade and wing force was thrown into eliminating the threat. The wing not only proved its reputation as professional pilots, but also proved its loyalty to The Order in action, launching what were considered suicidal flanking attacks. That battle ended in a brilliant victory for the entire Brigade, in which the unit paid with heavy losses in personnel of the 341st Wing.
In 833 A.S., the 341st Wing was sent to The Outlands as part of the 34th Brigade. The purpose of the wing was to escort scientific ships and provide armed resistance to all the dangers that could await the Brigade during its research. The expedition was two tests for agents: they fought not only the horrors that lurked there, but also "Taus". When Brigade returned home, not a single Tau had returned alive. Each pilot had been eliminated with the utmost assurance that they would never rise from the dead. For each such pilot, 34th Brigade paid a price, "Taus" took too many to the grave before fading into oblivion.
Ironically, it was the most loyal pilots who turned into a nightmarish reminder of what a man born only to kill is capable of. The number of cases of psychosis in the ranks of the 341st Wing at the time of the expedition was more frequent than in all the others. According to the expert opinion, the ruins of Daam-K'Vosh themselves identified the weak point in the Brigade - that combat unit. Mental infection occurred gradually. First, two pilots of "Taus" start fighting each other in open space, then someone becomes a carrier of a mass mental infection, after that, several people from the Wing become minions of the main enemies of humanity. Often, it was the pilots of the Tau wing themselves who eliminated their own infected comrades only to take their place a couple of months later.
But the expedition ended almost a year ago. And although none of the veterans of that wing remained alive, it was decided to revive this wing with a new composition. After the sieges of Omicron Mu and Omicron Zeta, volunteers were found immediately. If 34th Brigade is looking for decisive action to complete its mission to combat the Nomads, then it is the 341st wing that will be at the forefront of the attack.
They may be inexperienced now, but in time they will restore the former glory of their new unit. But the term of payment for their debt for the bloody atrocities of their predecessors is eternity. New ones will take their place. But they will pay with blood for the mistakes of the past, present and future. Because Tau wing is the consequence of mistakes.
RANKS
341st Wing rank system is consistent with its previous status. If a Brigade is commanded by a Captain, then a Tau Wing is commanded by a Commander. The other four units of the Brigade were controlled according to the same logic.
•Ensign
Standardized rank for each newly minted agent working here. Ensigns of the 341st Wing are often sent on routine patrol missions and only under the command of a Lieutenant or Commander do they take part in major raids.
•Lieutenant
More experienced pilots of the wing, whose task is to directly train Ensigns in combat piloting skills and command them on the battlefield in the event of sorties.
•Commander
Wing Commander. His job is to manage all wing personnel and ensure that orders from 34th Brigade HQ are carried out. Typically, a wing commander is appointed as someone who has high coordination skills and sufficient tactical knowledge to conduct combat operations with maximum effectiveness.
OORP
The Tau Wing is a 'raidlog' unit. It appears where it is needed and is mainly engaged in PvP. As a rule, they do not go beyond the region where they were sent to do the job. Locally, the wing represents the PvP activity of the Brigade in the simplest sense of the word. Globally, the wing must selectively increase combat activity in any of the regions, with the RP preceding it.
Why was "raidlog" put in 'quotation marks'? Because, as stated earlier, the wing does PvP, but the element of preceding RP is mandatory. The wing does not go anywhere just to "wave guns". Perhaps you yourself will incur the wrath of the 341st Wing if you suddenly annoy the ships of the 34th Brigade or the Order/its allies/partners in general. Or maybe you're just Nomads or Wild who decided to cause trouble for the pathetic humans. The wing should be a counter-argument to your activities.
