Erie in Turmoil
PENNSYLVANIA
As the Liberty Government appoints a new Governor to Planet Erie, Militants are expected to be on the rise following several new developments in system.
On August 11th, Erie citizens were greeted with a new communication from the Liberty Government. Mike Davis, an unknown to most in Pennsylvania, addressed them as their new Governor with promises of civilian law, a return to normalcy for the system, and increases in investments for system infrastructure.
Notable absent from these promises were elections both local and for the Governor’s position, as well as the dismantling of the camps run under LPI management. A number of backlashes followed for these issues, both to that communication specifically and by a number of Erie organizations. Demonstrations by Chain Link are reportedly ongoing in several Erie settlements, though that cannot be confirmed at this time. Meanwhile local NeuralNet channels have been flooded with images of pigs and bacon whenever references are made to both the current Erie government or to Mike Davis specifically. Analysts for the Herald report a possible increase in violent crime, though LPI has yet to release official statistics.
The following day, the Pennsylvania system as a whole received another broadcast from the New Dawn Movement, allegedly Zoner Militants. The group has claimed their intention to fight against the new Governor, citing communications from that same office thanking Militants for their fight as well as beliefs that the actions on Erie will be replicated across other Liberty planets. Anonymous sources within the Liberty government have confirmed the message authenticity.
Bristol Constructions & Manufacturing has yet to release a statement.
Odd that Liberty would utterly shut down an attempt at honest talks regarding economic development with Bristol as a neutral third party, then shortly after appoint an antagonistic blowhard.
It's almost like they want neither peace nor economic prosperity in the system.
