"My mother used to say that it was important to put on a good show. To be there, present and involved, as a tangible symbol of authority for the people of Bretonia to rally to. A vessel through which the common folk can pour their hopes, ambitions, and hard work. A representative of the Queen of Bretonia, Carina the First herself, through which her people may see their salvation in their benefit to serving her. The 'air of the nobility' to galvanise the nation."

"I dare say, I do believe she's got it all rather backwards. It often struck me as a vile notion. The implication being, of course, that the people of Bretonia were there for the benefit of her Majesty and the court. I'd wager it's not contrarian to suggest the whole affair could, should, and does work the other way around. The Monarchy, her Majesty, and her court should exist to serve the people. In all fairness, I posit her Majesty the Queen understands this herself despite the entitlement of certain members of her court."

"It's for that reason that I, Lady Eleanor Jane Cromwell, seek to fulfill my duty to the Realm and it's people by submitting my application for a commission within her Majesty's armed forces to you, Rear Admiral. I live under no illusions that the United Kingdom of Bretonia is up shit's creek with half a paddle, desparately whittling away a second to extricate ourselves from collap- ha! You're right. Yet I shan't seek forgiveness for my candour, for I believe you see my point. The time for decisive, beneficent, strong leadership is now more than it has ever been. The citizens of the realm should find that in those of us of noble lineage. They deserve the best from us. We ought to rise to the occassion."

"Put me in command of the HMS-Chatham, Rear Admiral, and allow me to serve our people. Speak to my friends at court and my instructors at the academy if you seek references with regards to my character and abilities. I'm confident you will find their appraisals in support of my application."

"Yours Sincerely, Lady Cromwell."

Patrol Report 29.08.835 A.S. [Accessible to BAF command]
"Lady Cromwell submitting a patrol report for, lets see, twenty nine point oh eight point eight three five."

"I had the rather splendid experience of meeting a certain Captain A. Powell of the HMS-Glory in Tau Thirty-One at the onset of our patrol. Spirited. Backbone to match. Importantly quite knowledgable about the application of the laws of the realm, which came in most useful at the interdiction of a pirate train carrying a shipments worth of Cardamine. Needless to say, the situation was handled in expert fashion by the Captain and need we say more? On RTB, homeward bound naturally, we came across quite a few names up to no good. The neferious names were 'Kramer', 'Rattler', 'Campona', '(\^/)Promethus'... what does that squiggly thing in the name mean anyway?! These shall be submitted to the authorities for due processing."

"On arriving into the Cambridge system, we were fortunate enough to find ourselves in the good company of the HMS - Kettle's Yard and a BIS contact named Cuit. With such a gathering, spirits were bolstered and orders came to have a nosey around Dublin. Consequently, those rebellious rapscallion's of the RPA gave us a bloody nose. With the gauntlet thrown down and the challenge issued, I couldn't help but harbour the notion we may see some good sport. Alas, the devious devils deployed in dastardly fashion. With the minefields and the various platforms, they held back until the weight of numbers was at their advantage before striking. Cunning. Clever. Conniving."

"Most importantly, it was tactically sound. I dare say I've learnt a thing or two from the whole affair, and we shan't be gallivanting around Dublin without that advantage ourselves. The Realm has not the means to sustain unnecessary burdens. I need be more... suffice it to say, prudent, about such affairs. Perhaps a word here or there with those at court could gather the required support for a meaningful riposte."

Patrol Report 02.09.835 A.S. [Accessible to BAF command]
"Lady Cromwell, patrol report submission for oh two point oh nine point eight three five."

"The HMS-Chatham and the HMS-Glory, captained by the stalwart Captain Powell, rendezvoused in the proximity of the Belvedere Refinery and received orders to patrol up the Tau-31 gate in Leeds, a quick check-in on the lads at LD-14, before making our way to Battleship Harlow with a mind for tea and biscuits on Scarborough. In carrying out our routine patrol we came across a bit of a sitch. A Bowex vessel flying the name 'Charles.Hitchen", presumably the captain we were speaking with, and a condor gunboat with a certain 'Jo McDe' at the helm. A quick consulation with records brought to the light their affiliation with the Republicans. At first it appeared as it Mister Hitchen was in a spot of bother and so we moved to put a cease to their accostment. That's our style."

"It transpires on reflection, and Cpt.Powell's rather fervent interrogation, that Jo McDe was repatriating members of Her Majesty's Armed Forces to Mister Hitchen. This is not the first time this individual, who professes themselves to be of knightly virtue and a former servant of the realm, has done so for they have put themselves at great danger in the past to transfer former prisoners to myself following the kafuffle near Arranmore. Cpt.Powell admirably wished to hold the letter of her Majesty's lex, yet I gave the order we leave this individual be. I expect the decision is controversial so I shall include some rational. Firstly, the individual is displaying sporting behaviour and chivalric inclinations. From an idealism point of view, perhaps an inroads to reconciliatory dialogue. In a more cynical lens, perhaps they may be leveraged at a time most opportune. A BIS agent has been notified of this individual of note."

Fleet Engagement 04.09.835 A.S. [Accessible to BAF command]
"Lady E. Cromwell submitting a report on a fleet engagement that took place in Magellan. Oh four point oh nine point eight three five."

"The HMS-Chatham was on the last segment of her designated patrol path from Scarborough Shipyard, to Planet New London, then onwards to the Royal Protectorate of Magellan. On passing Cordova Shipping Platform our paths crossed with an assortment of Libertonian vessels massing en-... well, en-masse."

"The fellows shared with us intel of an expected incursion from a Maltesan battlegroup. Needless to say neither I nor my fellow officers were of a mind to leave our Libertonian chums in the lurch. The news of the incursion spread through Bretonian channels and a motley assortments of vessels formed into an ad-hoc section ready to support our fellows in arms. Amongst us were Captain Powell commanding the HMS-Glory, the HMS-Benbow spared from Taskforce Fenland under the steady hands of Captain Reginald Murdock, the HMS-Hellhound, the HMS Naseby. A number of fellows piloting snub craft were present also, namely one 'Sundial' running a BIS transponder."

"This extemporaneously cobbled together section bravely stood in defence of her Majesty's Royal Protectorate and, despite the most unfortunate outcome of this round of fistycuffs lost to the Maltese, fought vigorously and valiantly. I wish to commend them all and, presuming they've managed to extricate themselves for repair and recuperation, the HMS-Chatham and her crew eagerly await the day we may give the Maltese a black-eye in return at their side."

Report 18.09.835 A.S. [Accessible to BAF command]
"Lady E. Cromwell submitting an update on a my jaunt up into Kusari. Eighteen point oh nine point eight three five."

"I'm sure Command is most interested in my gallivanting in Kusari, and I'll have you all know that it's going most splendidly. The opening of Atagi-san's new establishment on Honshu was a superb experience, and I dare say we ought to bring back a board or two of this 'Go' game and give it a whirl ourselves. I've bought one for the Estate despite not having the foggiest how to play! I've attached some recordings of some of the vista's myself and Lt.Keller saw on our way up to Honshu. It's a stark contrast to how I remember those stunning views in Shikoku. Quite the shock when priorly flying through libertonian space. I normally wouldn't share holiday snaps from a spat of personal leave, but I found they left quite the impression. A reminder of what lovely homes our friends have, and how ought to treasure them."

"Just this cycle, I also met a certain 'Santo Kaisa Miyuki Ishii', or Miyuki-san. I truly hope I pronounced that right. A veteran of the Kusari Naval Forces for over Eighteen years! It was truly hard to deny the admiration felt for such venerable service nor would I seek to. Amongst other chitchat and pleasantries, she shared with me that she'd experienced cooperation with Libertonian forces in dealing with a neferious hacker or two in Galileo despite the brewing tensions. I suggest it lends a little hope to the hearts of those who wish for it all to simmer down."

"She also shared with a story about a Cavalier vessel held in a Musuem on Kyushu of all places! Apparently, A Bretonian police officer was lent aid by the KNF and sadly passed whilst returning the favour taking them back to Kusari. Does anyone happen to have name of the officer in question?"

Fleet Engagement 27.09.835 A.S. [Accessible to BAF command]
"This is Lady E. Cromwell submitting a fleet engagement report for a battle with the Gallians in Roussillon. Eighteen point oh nine point eight three five. Please do forgive the crackly transmission you're surely receiving. The Chatham's comms array, as well as her two main engines, are more than worse for wear after the handiwork of a handful of Gallian snub aces."

"A section of the fleet mustered a smidgen sector northwards of Planet Toulouse. It was heartwarming to see our steadfast allies in the Crayterian Republic also join the affair. Word had reached the boffins at BIS a concentration of Gallian Naval forces was congregating in the system, and those boffins did not disappoint. At approximately nineteen hundred hours a GN battlegroup was sighted and engaged without delay. Keen as everyone was to throw a few hands and settle the matter decisively!"

"Alas, damaged sustained meant our visual-audio sensors malfunctions during the bout. Perhaps other captains and pilots will aid in corroborating my report. However, I shall regail events to you as best as one can. As the two sections came witin range to deliver their opening salvos, initial momentum had several vessels of both sides out of position. Those opening trades had the Bretonian allied forces at a disadvantage, but with raised chins and stiffened upper lips the folks pushed through in earnest. It was a slow grind, with patient play on both sides, that took over an hour twenty by my mark to come to a conclusion. Through steely resolve, solid teamwork, and the stamina of our pilots and gunnery crews, Her Majesty's realm came to claim victory. I wish to commend everyone present at the engagement, for surely their valiant efforts have paid off, and it is an honour to serve beside them."

"Not that I would say it to their faces, but the Gallian Forces clearly haven't lost their edge despite the relative turmoil of governance. I'm sure you folks at command know this but it certainly left an impression. I'd wager no one left that field of battle without a scar or three."
