Dominika adjusts herself in her chair, the background decorated with meager things, giving the appearance of her bedroom at her home. "It's been a long time since I left the Coalition, defected. That woman gave me a second chance at a new life. She suggested I dictate my thoughts so I can go back and reflect on them. I thought she was being a bit silly. For someone in such a high ranking position, surely this would be a security risk? But as it happens there's a ton going on and I find it very hard to keep my thoughts clear." She adjusts herself, making her red beret visible to her camera for only a moment. "I knew things would be chaotic beyond the ordinary boundaries of the Coalition, but there's absolute insanity in some places. A regular patrol turned into me just going blank mentally for so long I've actually just memory holed it! This group of Hackers that just seem like they embody every negative stereotype ever portrayed in propaganda films of Liberty women. Atleast within the military here there is more order and structure but even that is more loose than I am used to. But my mentor has retired to live her life with her family, an admirable duty and now I must instill order in what ranks remain of this Fleet."

Dominika stands from her desk, heading away before returning to view for a moment, setting down a glass and pouring in a black looking liquid. "I will commend the Colonies on one thing; abundance of coffee vodka. Nicole always said that caffeine kept her going, but I have no idea how she could tolerate the sledge that the local police create. Abysmal. This?" Dominika holds up her glass, swirling it lightly. "This is a real drink." She takes a hardy gulp from the glass and exhales the burn on her throat, setting it down. "I suppose I could consider this a test run, and a way to vent without worry of leaking secrets. Nobody but me will see this anyway. For now, Do svidaniya".

Dominika looked into the camera, while her expression was neutral, she was clearly upset. "Yesterday. Today. Two times I failed to get who I went after." She reached over out of view before pulling back a glass of vodka, drinking the remains of its contents. "First that Technocrat managing to evade me despite an intensive pursuit through Manhattans atmosphere. Now today, that Hacker bomber relying on that heavily armed cargo ship. I'll remember them. They won't see it when I hit back. Maybe not tomorrow but soon. And the last thing they see will be the smile on my face as I send them into the least reputable prison station I can find." Domi takes a deep breath, calming herself.

"Try being civil, some say. I already knew what worked and I should've stuck to it, now my nights will be even longer with reports piling up on border activity. It's such menial crap. Shouldn't the reserves assigned to the checkpoints handle these? I can't figure out why they send them to me. Send them to the larger fleets who have more staffing! We're not the barrier patrol fleet. But I've got my own plans to reform the 5th into something more akin to the new vision. But to do that I need to revitalize the common pilot and officer in the field, and I have a few ideas as to how." Standing up, Domi would stretch, leaning down to her camera. "I'll get my revenge on those three. But for now I must tend to the more tedious crap of being an Admiral. I need to buy more coffee liquor. For now, my inner thoughts, Do svidaniya"

Dominika looks over some documents, clearly having been in thought for some time. "Been a while since I've recorded one of these. Actually been quite busy as of late, with the whole border security situation. I actually had to lead the Helena on combat maneuvers with the Ohio in the exercise grounds. It was quite the experience really, I found it pretty illuminating on combat takings and taking an unconventional approach to warfare." She takes a drink from a glass, the clear liquid lightly swirling as her glass hits the wooden table once more. "I've learned a few things about myself too, and how to elevate my performance in the field. But that isn't really what makes this diary worth making. I actually ran into a old friend and managed to catch up with him. He had a few things to enlighten me about back in my 'home'. Well, place I came from anyway. Things are really the usual but with the happiness of knowing a close friend of mine managed to escape with his help."

Dominika takes in a breath, smiling warmly. "Anna Tsoi managed to get away, although allegedly on the run from being hunted down. No idea where she is now since he didn't know, only that there were sparse sightings of Coalition gunboats around, but always vanishing before Navy response shows up. Still.. It means she's somewhere around Liberty, and maybe I can find her. I inherited a lot of favors from Nicole as the new Director of Naval Intelligence, and I know how to justify it. Still.. Just the knowledge that she's still out there brings me immense joy. I hope to find her so I can protect her." Domi finishes off her glass of clear liquid.

"Well, I suppose that's about all I have. Despite Kusari's aggression, things are looking better for me. Until next time, little diary. Do svidaniya."
