Brief History of Bretonian Trash, Scrap, and Refuse

Bretonia was founded in 19 AS, while lacking in many of the rich natural resources, and nearly 2 decades behind their compatriots in the process of settling their new homes Bretonia began the process of rapid industrialization. Largely forgoing ecological protectionism in the interest of economic growth this led to Bretonia being one of the most polluted Houses second only to Liberty itself. With Leeds and New London now littered with the remains of thousands of ships and billions of tons of scrap and toxic waste ALG has been contracted to begin clearing the detritus with Junkers also pitching in where they can.

Stokes' Waste Management Founding

Much of the refuse in New London and the Smog making up the clouds of Leeds have their origins squarely at the feet of Bretonia's premier industrial manufacturing corporation Bretonian Mining and Manufacturing. BMM, has a long history of disgruntled workers leaving to start their own enterprises or organizations and the story behind Stokes' Waste Management is no different. Rowan Hamilton, a Leeds Refugee who had just come of age, was in his 2nd week of basic training when the Gallic War finally came to an end. After completing his training and entering the rapidly growing supply of Bretonian Armed Forces Reserves he began looking for work in the recently devastated private sector. Begrudgingly he took up a role working for Bretonian Mining and Manufacturing working on the LD-14 recovery unit. When he finally returned to New London in 832 A.S. ALG was already hard underway shunting the war wrecks into quarantine zones and beginning the hard process of deconstruction and smelting the refuse into usable materials. Inquiring to his superiors if he could be deployed to assist in the salvage operations he was informed that ALG alone held the contract over the war wrecked and BMM would have no hand in the process. This infuriated Rowan, why hadn't the Crown incentivized domestic operations? Sure, ALG has contracts with most of Sirius to handle industrial clean up and Toxic Waste removal and has a long history of success in space based salvage operations, the fact that BMM a homegrown Bretonian Corporation wasn't even considered for this contract was an insult to hard working Bretonians. Instead further indebting Bretonia to other houses could they not have invested in local operations?

Rowan decided shortly there after to leave BMM, he took what credits he had and invested in a Clydesdale with an attached set of salvage arms to get to work doing what others in his house seemed disinterested in doing.

Stokes' Waste Management is the name given to Rowans current self employment venture. Named in honor of Stokes Smelter, a station much of his family had worked on historically before their exodus from Leeds and a shining beacon of hope for the future of Leeds and all of Bretonia.

Goals

  • Clear the Bretonian refuse that foreign corporations seem unwilling or incapable of doing.
  • Explore innovative and novel experimental methods of Scrap Removal and Toxic Waste collection that large corporate entities such as ALG wouldn't be willing to risk.

//OORP Faction Info and notes

So, this is just a thing I have been thinking up. Recently, I started writing a story where I explore using a GMG Kamome to harvest toxic waste in the smog clouds of Leeds. However, as I have thought about it more the less it seems reasonable for a Junker to be doing this. So I decided to make this faction up for this. As stated in the information this is currently just me if this is something you'd be interested in joining you are welcome to. This isn't a faction focused on power trading or anything near that. We will be focusing on Toxic Waste and Scrap Metal harvesting and maybe eventually expand into shipping other Bretonian volatile goods such a MOX. Probably using Freighters or small transports and that's about it. If this is something other people are interested in joining me doing you are welcome to do so. I have no real intention on going official or expanding this too far this is mostly just a fun little Rp thing but hey, stranger things have happened.

This faction is strongly intended to be a RP Focused Company. While we will be flying Transports and Freighters power trading isn't the purpose. We are a Heavily Rp Focused Faction. Every aspect of the factions activity prioritizes the RP of your activities.

General Rules:
  • Follow all rules as laid out in the DiscoveryGC Community Rules
  • Absolutely NO AFK Trading/Silent Trading; while we all have emergencies, and tabbing out to check Discord/DarkStat/etc is understandable. I don't want anyone just flying around quietly ignoring Rp/Avoiding Rp. Even out enemies deserve a fair shake.
  • OORp Hate; I am not interested in any OORp hatred. If you have biases against other factions keep it outside our group.
  • Remember its a game; we are all here to have fun.
  • Its just a fun faction, don't take it too seriously. If you have other faction priorities I understand

Hope to see you in space!!
