I've been looking for the best mining areas about; and have found that more than a few " new " systems have minable areas marked; but no resources actually drop when you prospect there.

Anyhow; not actually my point. I had a question to all you out there...

Dueterium

What system has a mineable field of it? I have looked everywhere; zig-zagged sector after sector; and I can't find a molecule of it to tractor.

My ship is melting from this Nuetron radiation; and if I hit another belt of mine-like explosive minerals while following a simple ion trail I'm gonna go loopy....

Any clues ?

Hmm, are you referrin' to me, Jack, or one of the Epopts? I don't believe I've encountered the Pork Chop Express yet. Maybe when ya shot those bricks loose, one did more damage to your skull than ya thought.

As to the Deut.. wish I knew. As it was a new commodity added, I'm not even sure if there is a "source".

Discordians only have one "Hell", Jack. It's called the Region of Thud.

This refers to the Legendary Malcom "Mal" Reynolds, Captain of the firefly class transport ship Serenity.

As to the deut, I would agree that as a new commodity it would not have a "source". The info cards also say that the majority of deut is in the hands of the zoners so it may not have a source because it is harvested by some secret method developed by them.

I don't belive that there is a deturium feidl anywhere. If it would be somewhere, either Tau 37 or the Unknown systems.

Lol yea Firefly was a good show..... I wish it wasn't cancelled after its first season.

Verginix out

"Pops" Warbucks confided in me on my last visit to Veranda Incognita. I was curious about the deuterium as well, as it seems to be a very lucrative commodity to trade in.

The raw material actually comes from another of Canaria's natural resources. It is extracted from Zoner dung. Hence, the great to-do each year for the Annual Dung Festival and Dung Sculpture Contest.

I suggest buying the refined product. I know I won't be "mining" any.

EDIT: ---SPOILER---SPOILER---SPOILER---

No minable Deuterium anywhere in Sirius.

But here are some good mining spots:-

1. Niobium in Tau 37 (southern cloud). Sell in New Berlin (the ring) for >$1000 each. But its a long trip, and have to be friendly with Outcasts.

2. Silver in Colorado near Xeno base. Only $600 a piece, but short trip to Manhattan thru j/h to sell so it's a quick $600. Have to be friendly with Xenos obviously, and Rogues too helps.

Mining is actually viable in Discovery thanks to increased yields over the vanilla Freelancer, thankfully. Even so trading is still quicker.... but that's not the point is it! It's all about playing the game:)

*Tip: To stop neutral pirate factions demanding you hand over your load while in the middle of mining: shoot out a hold-full of asteroids before tractoring them in. Then when you have them, high-tail it out of there. Make sure you have plenty of missile countermeasures.

Hope this helps!

Dab, Wolfpack, and Korrd have yelled at me many a time for this. PUT SPOILER ON TOP IN REALLY REALLY BIG LETTERS SO THAT PPL WONT LOOK AT IT WHO ARE ACTUALLY TRYING TO HAVE FUN IN THE GAME!!!!! *cough cough*

I am a long-absent Supreme Commander, Executive Commander, Grand Admiral, Fleet Admiral, and Captain in the mighty Hellfire Legion. I have returned, and am on an urgent mission from Drake Thastus to return the Legion to its former glory, and to claim the galaxy for its own. Only then will I be able to rest.

Shiny; thanks for the heads up guys. I'll stick to the Niobium and the like. Seem to be a few minable zones for alien organisms out there on the rim that arn't marked as such.

prospecting's in the blood I think.

( Havn't met ya yet Malclypse; the saying is as Iconian mentioned from an old holovid I saw " Serenity " Based on the Firefly series of old-earth )

Just something that strikes me as...me...

On that note, if you've not seen " Big trouble in Little China "; do your funnybone a favor and watch it some night as you fly through space!
