Ladies and Gentlemen. the time approaches
General Alwine and Colonel Scott, I am now reading you in on the Overwatch's current plans regarding the Liberty-Kusari War. With the tensions in Galileo having hit a breaking point, it is time to divert forces to begin this endeavor. This document is not redacted as you alone will be given the bigger picture. This document is solely for your eyes, and the eyes of your immediate adjutants. If these plans leak to anyone else, the entire operation will be jeopardized and both a strike at the Nomad holdings in Kusari and revenge for the destruction of Alexandria and the damage to Fort Carthage will go unavenged. Loose lips sink ships, people. Secrecy is key.
A major shipyard currently being used to refit the Kusari Fleet with jump drives. With the war on Liberty inevitable, a majority of Kusari’s naval forces has been deployed to Galileo. But not all. With their friendship with Bretonia solidified by the Drive Stream currently in action between the Essex and Somerset, they have no one on the eastern front to their knowledge to cause undue issues. The same is unfortunate regarding Rheinland.
As such, even with a majority of their forces diverted to the warfront, we need to create pressure. As such, Operation: TRIDENT required a three pronged approach to this goal.
⧫ FIRST PRONG: PATIENCE
Operation TRIDENT will require one devastating cost: to wait. We must allow the war to ignite so the Kusari Navy is diverting a majority of their forces to the Liberty Theatre of war. Allowing them to do this willingly would go a long way to victory. During this time, we need to run reconnaissance missions in Tohuku and prepare for Third Phase.
⧫ SECOND PRONG: PRESSURE
Pressure is needed. Once a majority of their forces are diverted into the new Liberty-Kusari War, the main issue will be diverting the rest of their forces away and breaking their defensive position in Tohuku. This will require the assistance of many of our allies on the Easter and Western fronts of Kusari.
On the East, posturing by the Gallic Union after seeing jump drives in action, moving forces to the buffering systems of the Taus, specifically Tau-23 and Tau-29. By positioning forces within these systems and appearing on edge due to the use of Jump Drives used against Liberty, Kusari will be focused on placating their neighbors.
The second pressure is Kusari trade through the Sigma systems. While we cannot ask the GMG to risk their position nor honor against Kishiro, we can ask them to assist the Bundschuh in striking Samura convoys heading to Rheinland by interdicting, holding them up, and allowing the Bundschuh to use their deeper installations as strike bases. With added pressure, the Navy will be forced to commit their slowly-stretched out fleets into the closer Sigmas to attempt to defend Samura convoys.
⧫ THIRD PRONG: PERSECUTION
Once the Navy is spread thin, we launch our assault. Blood Dragon forces from Ryuku Base and the Order from Mu will launch a simultaneous assault on Ichigaya Drydock. Using any subterfuge and sabotage inflicted by undercover elements, and the weakened garrisons, a full fledged attack should be enough to destroy the dockyard, weaken Kusari’s hold on Tohuku, and allow Liberty to gain the upper hand. This plan is dangerous and far from foolproof, but if we are to strike a blow against the Nomad scheme being wrought like the Colony Wars. We will only get one shot at this. Unless Rheinland throws its hat into the ring and the GMG decide to let them pass into Honshu, but we haven't the time to make such a miracle yet.
We cannot take the Arch yet.
But we can make them bleed.
Operation TRIDENT is a multi-stage, Sirius-Wide effort for one goal: The destruction of Ichigaya Drydock. Currently the Science Division is preparing a monumental undertaking to research and create countermeasures towards Jump Drives. In that, we need to slow down their proliferation and ensure that no more vessels with Jump Drives leave Ichigaya. As such, what I need from the Second Division and Eclipse Vanguard is the following:
⧫ Utilizing allied installations in Kyushu and Honshu, Order Task Forces will run White Operations and draw attention. This is a dangerous duty, but Kusari Naval Forces must be diverted and have their eyes on everything relative south of the Hokkaido System. If they believe we are on opposite sides taking advantage of the war in Galileo, then we will have an opening to strike. The objective of PRONG TWO - PRESSURE and the appearance of Order vessels outside of the projected AO for OPERATION TRIDENT is to thin the defenses at the rear. This is a double-edged sword, as they also may think we are planning something. As such, your task forces will need specialized reconnassaince vehicles prepared to be discovered in the New Tokyo and Shikoku systems, specifically around Kure Shipyard and the naval staging grounds in Shikoku.
Everything I ask of your two cells is dangerous. I do not ask of it lightly. But we must apply pressure to the Kusari Navy and the Office of Intelligence. They inevitably will think it is a strike on Tohuku. We need to buy time and steal enough attention and resources by the time they figure that out, we will have launched our assault.
OCV Shanidar Cave is finalizing and compiling our reconnaissance data. Once the day comes, we will disseminate and finalize the plan for the Order side of this operation.
For those who died on Alexandria. For those who died on Carthage. And for everyone who is about to perish over Jump Drives. Let's get this done people. Buy the Order time.
Once Galileo is a warzone, our next crusade begins.
