I thought about something. If people get a Bounty, the Bounty is only on the name. So like, someone has a Bounty on his head, and he is becoming scared of it, he could just change his name right? So the Bounty would is also gone. The same is possible with someone who was declared as enemy by a faction. Like last time we talked in Skype Outcast Alliance about an Outcast building literaly a lot of crap. And now he is on the KoS List of Outcast and is also not allowed to dock on Outcast stations anymore.
So how about:
If someone gets a Bounty on his head. He gets an Item with a Wanted signal. So just scan him and you see the Bounty Contract with name and Bounty. This would be really easy to find someone with a Bounty. Just like a Sanction Notice, only with Bounty Information.
The same would be possible with declared enemies.
So how is that Idea? I think it is okay, would make it easier for Hunters and others. It would also be a bit more Role Play to have something which shows that you are wanted to be dead.
"Who is it doing this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?"
Just let them change their names, it means their entire identity and background is erased, sorting everyone's problems. If he was a real bad ass, he would've stood up for it.
You know, bounties are mostly like: 300k on Hacker Gunboat, etc. Even if he/she changes name, his ID and IFF still remains. Then there are hunted of official ppl faction. Renaming yourself in player faction is impossible, because your old name is registered in their database.
And by the way, i think being hunted is big fun as hunting someone. I dont think there is much players who would give 2 mio, just to evade being hunted.
Those, who just play there, and they are not registered on forum, will never know, if there is some bounty on their head.
But actually... idea of using FlHook that Nightmouse mentioned sounds good to me
Carnage itself flying within void... Proud cardihead ever since 2008...
You all gonna eat cardi!
Changing the name to avoid the punishments of your own faction for being an idiot is a bastard thing to do though. And trust me, 9 times out of 10 you will be found out, and you will be made to suffer. The Junkers are still sifting through the remains of the last few Liberty Dreads to pull that stunt a few months back.
As to the in game bounty, it seems like a little too much strain on the server for a relatively small function using flHook, and open to all kinds of abuse. It's not that difficult to alt-tab to the forums for a few minutes before you undock.

That may be true, but the advantage of an FLHook system could be that when someone with a bounty logs on, a notification could be send to the console chat.
