Question on amount of people in one system

Hey folks, I'm curious as to if there are too many people in one system, lets say, oh I dunno, New York. Will it inevitably cause server lag?

I just come off the server, as soon as I jumped into New York, the red lagging began. It didn't stop for about 15 or so minutes I've been told.

There were a lot of people there, as per norm.

Does this cause lag?

Actually, it was lagging in other systems as well. I was coming from Coronado to New York, with lags periodically visiting me along the way

It was a server wide lag wave. I was got red lad in five different systems.

I was doing missions with a couple guys in Burgundy, so it may have been me...

not sure, i always thought it was massive battles and lasers flying everywhere that cause more lag than anything else. but its still happening now though

Lag waves are coming every so often on the server, wherever you are it seems.

But technically, yes it can cause lag to have lots in one place.

At the same time, they generate less NPCs than if they were spread out, so it could actually be helpful.

I t has happened before, some of the epic fights between OC & Sairs have crashed the server a few times.. guess it causes an overload?

I think it's just server lag, not because there are heaps of people in one system. A lot of people in one place seems to cause FPS lag more than anything else.

happened alot tonight, especially in NY.
