So, what's your opinion on the new gaming movie from Universal? Reviews differ... and I won't have an opportunity to see it before the end of this week.

... I want two hours of my life back.

The movie was not good at all. Plot holes litter the movie, and it's not even kinda based on the game. It would have been a better movie if they had stuck with the real plot in Doom 3, instead of trying to rip out an entire new one with this stupid genetics crap. I, for one, was dissapointed. We got 4 monsters out of Doom 3 at the most, and not even that many weapons. And what's the point of the BFG if we only get to see it used twice? The people who made this movie should be shot.

On a scale of 1 to 10, this movie SUCKS!

Well, lol in the Defence of the Movie the Rock makes one Sexy Marine, and the can't go and explain it by saying, what the Gates Of hell open on Mars and released all these Horrible Creatures with Flamethrowers and Bazookas built into there arms?

I did like the Five mins of Gunbattle in First person View that was very very awsome!!

Scale 1-10 id give it a 7

Voted for Average. 6 out of 10. The movie has strong points, like first-person section. But most of it is just dull and pointless. Ending was very disappointing. Well, I mean, do you remember how Resident Evil 1st movie ended? Nothing very special, but at least it ended somehow. In this case, there's no end, and moreover, Doom tends to get worse in the 2nd half (except that FPS thing).

Not going to see it. Never really likes Doom anyway, and from what I heard it's just an average action flick. Thus not worth my time or money.

"No, I'm serious. Try that again and I will take your balls"

When you wish upon a falling star, your dreams can come true. Unless it's really a meteorite hurtling to the Earth which will destroy all life. Then you're pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for. Unless it's death by meteor.

The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

I was suprised by Doom 3 (the game). Most games like that don't have plots, they just have something happening and then demons spawn all over the place. In Doom3, however, we get to figure out just what caused the demons to come through; teleportation.

Basic plot for the game is that an old race that lived on Mars discovered teleportation. However, the way teleportation works is by using Hell as a slingshot or gateway. Whatever the case is, you have to go through Hell to reach the other side of the teleport. Now, the demons there can grab onto this and come through. The old race was devistated by this, and the only way they survived is by forging a demon-killing Soul Cube (You find it latter. It's a good weapon to use), sacrificing most of their race, and having the rest escape to earth. Now, we went to Mars, found these tablets that unlocked the secrets of teleportation, and we built a new teleport system. Guess what; the demons popped in and killed just about everyone.

The whole story get's told by e-mail and audio logs you find on people's PDAs. I would suggest you play the game, even if you use cheats. There are actually a few puzzles in there, and you can't just run from one end of the game to the other, only killing the things you really have to (like bosses). All in all, it's a good game, visiously slaughtered by a movie that had potential but it got wasted.

I'll probably see the movie.... But only for the First person shooter camera. That's never been done before in a movie, and I want to see what its like. (I help my friend, future director, to make short films... Not very much... But enough)

I have just seen the movie... in *cough* emule-cinema *cough* *cough*... ;)
Well, it is not that bad,,, but not that good.... It's just average..

Warning: Possible spoiler ahead.... (It would not spoil too much because the movie is too predictible)

It lacked action... The argument was the tipical "Go in soldier and clean the map" too obvious....

I liked the 5 mins of first person action...
But the rest? Well, too predictible. You know who is going to die and how it is going to end in the moment they enter the instalation....

Also, they should have put more exotic weapons... only the BFG, the chaingun, and power saw appeared...
Instead of the assault rifle, they should have had the plasma rifle (or at least found it on the instalation's armory)... :)

If you like movies like resident evil, or alien, you should see it.. If not, dont see it. it's not that great....
Im affraid i agree with kane... The movie potential got wasted...
I give it a 6 out of 10...
