Well I have a Rogue, I admit that, I don't fly with her much but I am working to get her back in space
Anyways, she is currently in a Rogue bomber....really I love that ship, and it looks great and flies wonderfully, and fits her RP as a heavy weapons support character
but the Barghest sadly seems to be such a generic ship now...every Rogue (indie atleast) has one
now I love the ship, but really I am thinking of getting a different ship...
I'm looking for pilots who have flown the Hyena, Werewolf and the Bactrian...I would like some opinions on them. I've flown the Greyhound, it's a nice ship really.
I don't want to give up my Barghest, but they just seem to be too common
Well, the bactrian is a freighter, and may fit the role of a heavy weapons person, and has okay turning for a transport/freighter, but expect it to suck in PVP...
The Werewolf has slightly better turning than a Marauder, actually turning better than any heavy fight besides the crow (Even though its a very heavy fighter), the 5 guns instead of 6, and low bats/bots are a definent handicap, but the cruise disrupter and cruise disrupter/torpedo slot make it very good for pirating.
The greyhound only has 4 guns, but it's insanely small to hit, and you can pretty much treat it like a light fighter. However it has very weak stats, so you'll want to keep on dodging.
The hyena is an actual light fighter, but it's huge, handles horribly, and only has 3 guns. I can't really see any reason to use it PVP wise.
Johnny forgot to mention that the Hyena also has a class 5 turret which is firing forward.
Yes, it is huge, and if you face a missile spammer you'll likely loose your shield as it's at a really good position. Right under the Cockpit, facing forward. It's agility is ok, however, i have 1 Deb, 2 Sammaels and a Belial loaded and this makes the energy smelting away like is in Africa laying in the sun. (okay, not that worse, but still, it's going down fast)
I'm currently proud owner of a Bactrian. It has a nice handling for a freighter, it feels like it is turning a tad faster than a Barghest. But it also has a huge front. I have loaded 1 CB, all other guns are cl9 Flashpoints and all turrets are Belial turrets. Also drops down the energy fast.
