Lately I've been pondering (thinking to some of you) that the Border World ship line is generally classed as Outcasts ships, even though technically they're not, the Outcasts just use them since they do not have a full unique shipline.

Therefore I ask you this, should the Border World ships become part of the Outcasts good and proper, or should the Outcasts get a new ship line? I mean I suggest the latter, since if I remember right on Planet Malta in vanilla that there is a news report on a over 100 year old ship designer making ships for the Outcasts, but they all look Border World style, in theory.

I know the BW ships are quasi-civilian/Outcast, but they always bear the stigma of being Outcast or to a lesser extent, Lane Hacker vessels.

Should the Outcasts get a whole new ship line from Dagger up, or should there be a new Border Worlds ship line and the current Border World ships designated as Outcast?

P.S. Would you include the Dromedary in this discussion?

EDIT: Off course, how could I forget the Red Hessians:( But if memory serves, I see them in Civilian ship line, I could be wrong. I know the NPC's fly BW ships now that memory is jogged.

As an Outcast I would prefer for the current line to become Outcast but since that will not happen, I would like a different line for us to call our own.

They are separated from Outcasts. They're a Borderworld ship,. They are produced by the Outcasts, Hessians, Hackers and now Bundschuh. There should be just as much association with those other factions as the Outcasts.

The Outcast Tridente, whilst maintaining Borderworld design, is an Outcast ship.

Dromedary is a Borderworld ship which Zoners also use.

Just sell all BW ships at any Freeport that doesn't currently sell ships and we can solve the problem of BW ships being inherently classed as unlawful or shady civilian.

For god's sake, can someone please implement this!? I've been telling people for months and those who read my argument had no problem with it and even suggested we go through with it.

Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams
Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction
Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid
Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space
Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits

Liberty and Nomad Backstory, Very interesting - read it!

They are already sold at Outcast, Hessian, Hacker and Bundschuh bases. Hell, even the Falcata is sold at a Bundie base, and guess what - instead of it fixing the problem, I get people telling me that the devs "made a mistake and that it will be corrected":D

No it will not be "corrected", because it is not a mistake: the BW ship line is not Outcast, and can we please stop hammering this over and over again? Until the point that the infocards on them stop saying "Borderworlds Fighter" and start saying "Outcast Fighter" and they stop being sold on non-Outcast bases, this ship line is going to be Borderworlds and not Outcast.

I don't think anything needs to be changed, although I do support Border Worlds ships being added to Junker or Zoner bases.

(in response to a prior remark in an earlier topic about Corsairs using them if that happened: Just adjust the Corsair ID to say "Cannot use Border Worlds ships" or add a category to the tech chart. problem solved, everyone's happy.)

They're not Outcast ships, so others can use them, but if you think "Outcast fighter", the Sabre is the first thing to come to mind. Even if they got their own shipline, I question whether or not it'd get any use.

Of course, I don't object to them getting their own ships, but I don't think it's needed

Borderworld ships aren't Outcast, and making them so will put a lot of Characters out of place. They never have been Outcast ships, so I don't see why they should become them now after all this time. Lots of people use those ships for non-outcast characters, like my Mercenary. Borderworld ships offer an alternative for those of us who dislike the Civilian line. Border World ships will always carry an Outcast stigma about them, but since Outcasts aren't the sole producers of Borderworld ships, they don't own exclusive rights to the line.

I've always thought it odd that, with all the factions getting their own fighter/bomber shipline, the Outcasts haven't. The reason is simple: While the BW shipline may not be OC-specific, it is quintessentially Outcast. The two are inseparable.
