Donate money to the ANGELS whenever possible. Quite possibly the coolest faction out there in the respect that they help newcomers with cash, RP ideas, rules, helpful hints where to get a better ship, how to make money, etc. etc.
I gave one of them 5 mil yesterday, and do so whenever I see one online. They are the true backbone of Discovery. I also will help someone with cash or point them in the right direction if they send me a message asking a question (mostly on my IND character). I will however, refuse to give someone money who PM's me saying "Can I have a mil?" or some other related statement begging for cash.
I've had some awesome experiences in helping others, and that's my main point. Perhaps a subtle form of bribery to get people to RP with you is in order. To some, it comes naturally, to others who wish to learn, it takes a bit of time.

Those that want to learn and adapt are easy to spot in the first five minutes of conversation. Those that want a handout are equally easy to spot.

And if you want some good RP ingame, look me up. I won't even take your 100K.

You ask me why Im weary, why I cant speak to you.
You blame me for my silence, say Its time I changed and grew.
But the war's still going on dear, and theres no end that I know...
And I cant say if were ever...
I cant say if were ever gonna be free.

Angels? Nah.

I prefer this way. When angels are parked outside Erie they can only really help one person at a time with their money. And while their helping them, more people are drifting by who need help.

Do it this way, people learn better when theres a positive spin on it.

Personally, I love the Angels & I donate 100's of millions at a time to them. They are ten types of great to have around, but I'm sorta with Ash here...Angels can only do so much

A big organization helping out those who want to be helped is a good thing, but the best analogy I can think of is that it's one thing to help support a big soup kitchen & to give the address of it to those that need it...it's another thing to buy a homeless guy a sandwich & sit down by the dumpster & eat w/ him.

both methods are good in their own way

Well I have plenty of money so... Yeah. I'd be happy to give some away to a few good RPers,

I do something along these lines when I can. Not often, though. The other day, a complete newbie showed up with a distinctly not-in-character name, so I talked to him, explained that it's a roleplaying server, helped him pick a name that fits better, and gave him some money for a mining Rhino.

He wasn't RPing particularly well, but he showed that he was willing to learn, so I had no problem with helping him out.
