This post is for our current Angels and for those players who might consider a career in The Angels. Our faction is really a job.

Unlike many factions where answering a roll call every few months keeps you in, I'm strongly considering implementing a minimum time in game in order to maintain your membership in the Angels.

Since we serve a support role on the server and our goal is to support new players in the Disco Community, not being in game to fulfill our responsibility negates The Angels reason for being. We lose our ability to fulfill our mission.

I bring this up not to point fingers or punish anyone, but to create a standard by which you can judge for yourself if you have the time or inclination to be an Angel. This job is not for everyone, and sometimes you don't realize that until after you've been here for awhile.

My question is, what would be a reasonable time per month to be in game to do your Angel job balanced with real-life stuff and game time in your other chars--ten hours per month, five, two?

Please let me know what you think--skype, PM, etc. I'm posting in the forums for those Angels who don't skype as much and to educate others who might consider applying.

It really depends on scheduling. You'll almost have to consider a schedule like a manager schedules their employees.

Also, time zones are a factor too...hopefully you've got a lot of people from a LOT of different time zones, but if you've got one person on the -6 to -10 GMT timezone, and seven from the GMT to GMT +6 time zone, that's a lot harder to do.

Personally, I tend to spend 1-2 hours a day ingame (on average). I'd say maybe 3-4 hours per month, but in one-hour increments max, would work. You could conceivable have someone with six spare hours knock out their requirement, and do other stuff the rest of the month. That's not going to benefit the maximum number of people, which I believe is what you're going for.

Asking for a screen shot of the characters ingame clock with a hour spent per week should not be issue for most.

Well, I'm not in the angels, but I would like to be. Anyways, I think maybe 20 hours a month could be a good standard, but really it depends on how much time people have themselves, everyone is different. I agree that it would be best to have more active people in the angels rather than not, as some people that rarely go ingame would be taking up slots for those who have more time to help ingame.

Come on! Be free!

I don't believe the requirement should be that high, we cannot ask that much of some people.
A medium rate of a minimum of say.. two hours weekly is good.
For myself personally, things are pretty busy and I find myself not playing this game for almost a month already. I can find the time to go angel here and there, but not much more than the aforementioned quota.

Two quality hours is good enough, I believe. Although, if there are those who'd do more or much more than that, they might have advantage over those like myself.:PBut seriously.

I've always loved the idea of the angels, I often wonder around helping out new players.

If you were to set this, about how much would it be??

I don't have a set amount of time I do it, sometimes I get 2 hours a month, sometimes I get 30 hours a month. Truly, it depends on my mood, how much work I have to do, and whether the people outside Erie want to learn or just want to be dicks.

If you set the bar at 10 hours a month, then I doubt I could stay in the faction, as I can't definitely set that amount of time aside.

Well, I occasionally post in the message dump and drop in about just over an hour a week. (Sometimes more, sometimes less.)

Most of my time is spent in my Zoner Guard trader helping new players when //message in whatever system I am in.

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

I manage to do anywhere from 5-20 hours a week, depending on my work load, and responsibilities with other factions, but I enjoy doing it, so it's no problem.
