Possibility of a hostile take over! Money talks baby!

Imagine buying out your competitor. Say two Universal indie/official factions and one buys out the other. I'm sure couple of billion credits will make the sellers smile when they are splitting the profit.

"hmmm. Why I'm throwing this brilliant idea away to you wolves?" *goes on to start-up a company*

Flying under radar.

I think, if I were to make a lawful trader and have them belong to a Corporate faction, the main things I would be attracted by would be:

-Convoys, because it's always fun to buzz around in swarms while trading.
-Dedicated RP (as opposed to RP that just leads to PVP)
-Intelligent Human Interaction! (Does that still happen here? xD)
-Skype Chats <3

I'll join the OTC soon (btw I'm already in through the OPG) for the following reasons :

- Ima money maker
- The daily OPG chat spams (just enough:P)
- I can be stopped by any lawfull and outcasts (Liberty is simply the best place)
- Ima corsair ! (k, this one doesn't count)

Now I have to get my new ship ^^'.

Corporate factions hold a lot of advantages over the normal police / navy / neutral house factions, while retaining many of the benefits:
  • Escorting: Flying escort for traders can be hard solo - it's not easy to get a contract. Sign on for a shipping firm and... Bob's yer uncle. House factions don't usually do much of this.
  • Convoying: Corporate firms usually engage in convoying for their traders, making the boring job of trading both safer and much more fun. (But the team usually slows the trade down, cutting profits.) Again, this isn't something house factions do a whole lot.
  • Cash: I've seen several cororations that sponsor new members with ships and equipment - of course under the assumption that once you earned the cash back, you use it to fund the needs of other players. (The mi casa, zu casa, policy.)
  • Community: A corporation usually has a much more tightly knit community than for example a large open police force.
  • Role Play: With a corporation comes a background, limitations, dos and don'ts. While closing down many trade routes, and prohibiting much equipment, this usually opens up many avenues of RP.
  • Evasion: With no navy, police, BHG, etc ID, you are not "required by RP" to respond to all the nonsense you want to avoid, like lane hacker fleets involved in cap ship fights in manhattan orbit. (Quite frankly, the pirates engaged in this type of behaviour would be better off starting navy chars anyway, and join one of the proper wars that ARE going on: Rheinland-Libery, Kusari-Bretonia, or Outcast-Corsair. But... we can't force them.)
Obviously, corporate factions aren't really the choice for gung-ho kill-em-all types.
