Welcome to the Liberty Rogues recruit, welcome to a life of piracy. A life of running, robbing and many other things beginning with r.
Your first task is to get to Buffalo without bribing us. Don't care how, just make sure you do. Once at Buffalo you'll begin the process of making yourself a force to be scared of or at least not quite so amused at.
Buffalo does not have the necessary resources to outfit a fighter of any substantial size so your next task is to locate where you will be able to acquire a Greyhound heavy fighter, some sammaels, the relevant equipment and no more than a mk III armour upgrade. Why mk III? Because I'm mean and want to make you sweat.
Once you've acquired the ship and equipment now is the time to start pirating. Your task is simple acquire the sum total of 15 million credits in loot, cash or otherwise. This can be verified by before and after records of your neuralnet credit account. Once this is achieved you will attain the status of Rogue and be granted access to the Werewolf, Barghest and all other z-line fighter class ships. It will be up to you to acquire the credits to outfit your vessel properly, the Rogues will not do it for you.
Whilst a recruit you are not permitted to fire your guns in anger at any vessel other than a freight transit vessel. If it's moving cargo from point A to point B then it counts. Kills resulting from being the aggressor against enemy fighters, bombers and capital vessels (unlikely) will be deducted from your total value.
Our Philosophy:
To keep things simple we don't have much of a philosophy, we aren't Hackers demanding the downfall of the current corporate regime, we aren't Xenos with their high and mighty dream of returning Liberty to it's economy of yesteryear, we're simply trying to make more cash than we had at the start of the day. If you achieve this, congratulations, you win.
As anything under the rank of Underboss, diplomacy, and other political shenanigans are none of your concern. Unless your superiors make it so. Any political or diplomatic matter raised to you should be forwarded to the Command staff.
Piracy:
The meat and potatoes of our organisation. Again this is pretty simple, with a few exceptions, if it moves rob it. Rob it of money, cargo, women, anything that isn't nailed down and if it is nailed down, take the nails too.
Exceptions to this include the following:
Cardamine smugglers should be helped. This is important, to keep up our friendship with the Outcasts the Orange Dream must flow. Take some Cardamine from them, no more than 10 units per 1000 tons transported. Then proceed to the shouting and arm waving that entails a distraction operation. However if they are trying to dump it on Manhattan then they are alone. We don't run distraction operations for idiots.
Artifacts, barring one certain group, artifacts are currently a no-no. You'll have to use your own discretion, we can shift them to Rochester and make the money or we can trash them wholesale. Up to the individual Rogue.
Blood Diamonds are to be looked after in the same way as Cardamine, only we take nothing. We can't sell them and so it's useless, just proceed to all the shouting. Again if they want to drop on Manhattan, let them get on with it.
If you see a Transport full of Ammunition and Weapons, ask him where he heads to, if his Destination isnt one of our Bases, rob him and sell it.
Junker and Zoner vessels are not immune to our charms, if they start crying foul take everything.
Combat Operations:
Combat is a strange fish for Rogues, we don't like it, aren't much good at it and don't have the ships for it, but we need to be able to do it from time to time. As such you now have two full time Flight Leaders. It is their job to organise your training and teaching. However in a combat situation their orders are law. Unless ordered to run by a senior Rogue, you follow their orders at all times.
Rogues should only ever enter combat when we're going to win. Simple really. If the odds are overwhelmingly stacked against us, run. If the odds are even, run. Only if the odds are certainly in our favour do we fight. Do NOT engage anything if you are unsure about victory.
Self-defense is always an option, but overconfidence will get you demoted. Fast.
At no point is any LR- tagged vessel to approach within the specified distances of the following bases:
This is less about ruckus and more about survival. If it's necessary to do this to ensure a distraction for smuggling operations then you may disregard.
Promotion Criteria and Rank Structure:
Promotion to various ranks requires different things. You have already been told how to advance to Rogue rank, and I'll be truthful most of you will never rise above that rank. But for those with the dedication and willingness to the cause here's your options.
Recruit: Just join,
Rogue: 15 million credit value earned after joining.
Veteran: 150 million credit value earned after Rogue rank attained
Ace*: 20 solo combat vessel kills or 40 assisted combat vessel kills plus 75 million credit value achieved after attaining Rogue rank.
Flight Leader: Promotion ordained by Crime Boss
Underboss: Promotion ordained by Crime Boss
Crime Boss: Nobody achieves this rank except by either killing the current incumbent or having it handed to you. Be warned unless you remove the current incumbent permanently he may return to take it back.
* Ace and Veteran rank are approximately equal. Neither outranks the other.
A minimum of one message dump post per month is required to retain any rank other than recruit.
Please note smugglers must quadruple the listed values and cannot attain Ace rank.
Datalink Terminated.
That's it folks, sign off.
