Symbols in game chat

I remember there was a post about symbols in game chat. The post told that the current Discovery exe file - freelancer.exe - supports cyrillic symbols instead of special European symbols. Author of the post suggested that freelancer.exe should be edited to change cyrillic (Russian) symbols back into European.

Two questions arise. First of all, where's this post (or, if it was deleted, can it be repeated?). Second, is this change really necessary for many server players.

No, not at all. The cyrillic symbols shouldn't appear when people use the normal English language. It will only be visible if someone talks with someone else in a language that has special symbols (e.g. German, there are cyrillic symbols visible instead the normal ?, ?, ?, , ?, ?, and ? symbols)

I don't think an edit is necessary, if someone feel the need for it then he can edit it after his desire if it doesn't violate any rules (maybe cheating?)

i think you're gonna need to use pictures, the forum doesn't support those characters.
