This is a music mod I found when i was listnin to music. I didnt use it yet but all it does is allow you to change your music so you have the music you want playing in the game....

I think i attached it. (Credit for this mod goes to a dude name Beertent.)

[attachmentid=3859]

Hope you enjoy!

Also admin mind stickin it if it gets popular? I think some people might like it.

is it a Serverside mod or a playerside mod? because I don't feel like listining to other peoples music set by the admins (sorry, I'm very niche oriented).

If its player side then why don't you just run your mp3 player of choice in the background? And we would need confirmation from Korrid that this wouldn't mess up his mod, which would be terrible.

Of course its player side.

And it just lets you choose what 'game music' you want to listen to I think. for example: If you where in Bretonia and you hate the damn bretonian music for that system, you can choose the music for Omicron Minor or Liberty Music or something, thats what I have seen so far.

And its Igiss's mod :P

Cheers

I think i figured it out....To play music you like lets go with
Riot - Three Days Grace to implement into the game...

1) Create a backup of the file you want to change.

we will play with music_struttgart

so create a backup for the file your changing.

(PUT the backup in some file somewhere else where it wont get scanned when the game is running)

2)Rename the file you want to change...

so Riot - Three Days grace you would rename to music_struttgart

make sure the music your changing is .wav

3) Put the music into the FL music folder

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\DATA\AUDIO\MUSIC

and that should do it....if not well theres a reason why i said make a back up

If its server side, then the Admins control the music (Bummer). If its playerside, then it would cause no more lag or interference than running Windows Media Player in the background. Personally, I just run my PSP right by me and use that for music.

Whenever you install a Player Side mod (Including the skins I *used* to do), you run the risk of lagging your OWN computer. The benefit would be that it has little to no effect on the server, so Admins need not worry.

EDIT:

This method was used by alot of players. It causes absolutely No CHANGES, except the music, of course. This method is 100% guarenteed to work, but can take some time because you have to edit each individual file.

If you want different music without mods or media player, then use this method

signature goes here once its done!
