No. We had real weapons and used blanks. Except for one of the BA2's. They had a gas powered mechanism that gave the effect of a machine gun.

The BA-64's, our mobile machine gun platforms. I was offered the opportunity to be a gunner in one, but it was denied because of the complexity of the gun mechanism and the fact that I never used it before.

It is the real thing. Except the shirt. I had that made with patterns I found online. Most of that gear is either from WW2 itself or from the early 50's and 60's.
