Discussion of Gundam Related stuffness

I only have SEED and SEED Destiny.:(I need to buy the older stuff.

If you watch the older stuff you'll need to completely forget Seed's storyline. It's completely different.

If you watch Mobile Suit Gundam prepare for some awful graphics. But if I were to say which to start out in you have to start from the beginning.

MSG is 49 episodes and was created in 1979. I'm going to re watch them sometime tonight. But basically MSG is tails the end of the One Year War between the Federation and Zeon. They will get briefly into the New Type Era.

War in the Pocket is a 6 episode side story during the end of UC0079 and start of UC0080. This was a important bridge between the stories as the Alex Gundam was the first Gundam EVER designed for New Types.

UC0083 Stardust Memory is the next 13 episode side story that is critical as it defines the stresses of the Federation and the creation of the Titan's. It too shows the first Gundam that uses binders, which will be seen in Zeta Gundam.

UC0087 (sorry thinkin of another sidestory ;P) Zeta gundam 49 episodes which is basically the New Type era. As the Titan's use New Types as weapons of oppression and begin creating artificial New Types. AEUG wars against the Titan's and eventually defeats the Titan's.

Double Zeta 49 Episodes , Zeon causes more troubles after the Titan's were removed and more new type stuff and falla.. Something about I believe the Physo Frame began development.

Skippin right along

UC0093 Char's Counter Attack; Char is a bad nubbie now and decides he's going to wipe out the earth sphere so that he can give birth to a new era of humanity completely made up of New Types. This begins to finalize the Federation's decay.

Unicorn Gundam; As from what I have seen and it's not finished new episode comes out every 6 months? Dunno but here is the starting fall of the Federation. And I don't know all the details involving what they plan for this story line. So Going to have to watch and see.

I'm thoroughly enjoying Unicorn. All I've seen is 00 (when they were showing it on Sy-Fy) and SEED. I really don't want to watch the older ones due to the low quality of the graphics. SEED was almost unbearable, but the plot was so good that I had to keep watching. This is probably why I like 00 and Unicorn so much.

Though in the spirit of Gundam I have been slowly making a Gundam Orbiter mod and such that I plan to start the UC time at 0080 after the one year war. That way most of the tech is already there. Because the same suits in 79 don't really change or new ones roll out until UC0083.

Sure you had the MS-06 to MS-06F to MS-06 KAI but I don't count them as new mobile suits as they stay within the same class and model number. MS-06 created in 0079 and MS-06 KAI is either 80 or 83 sometime between that.


But yeah what's the gist of Gundam 00?

The organization Celestial Being has this ambitious goal to end all conflict (By making conflict of their own through armed interventions) and unite humanity for a common goal. I won't spoil anything, but I will say that it goes way beyond that.

My knowledge of the Gundam universe is mostly made up by playing their games, so I'm quite critical about the quality and style of art.

And...you watched seed? After F91 it sits the same style until Unicorn.

Wing is a good stand alone. I have watched it but not really into the AC bit. Turn A Gundam is messed up...but as a Stand alone is ok..

Gundam X meh dunno.

AC era (Stand Alone) Wing Gundam, Endless Waltz
G era ( G Gundam is stand alone with pretend connections to UC) G Gundam
X Era ( Don't know much of that) Something

Seed Era (Stand Alone) Seed, Seed Destiny
Fan based good ones to watch for fun; Beginning Gundam.
