Oh yes, some bulk freight and oil tankers are of beyond mammoth size.

I've played some good football games inside of freighters. You just have to watch that you don't get your foot stuck in load bearing ring on the deck :laugh:

Vessels the size of that freighter aren't really used as transport vessels so much as floating industrial storage depots, mobile off shore oil facilities and all other manner of functions. Not entirely dissimilar to the '7000 unit no engine mining platform thingie' that was mentioned in the development channel.
