Either way it's the universally ignored cruising in combat rule by Caps thats the issue for me. I work a 2k gap to deal with the escorts and seconds later the Cap is on top of me because he cruised in. What is the limit when a Cap can choose to decide "bugger it, he's too far away. I'm cruising" Is it 2k 3k, 5k?
Yup, i agree on your points about using Cruise to catch up.
Simply put, bigger ships shouldn't be able to catch up on smaller ships.
If a fighter/bomber decides to run from a GB, GB can't do anything about it.
Except to have an escort to chase that fleeing guy.
Ban Cruise completely for PVP fights, and problem is settled.
Who starts cruise for any reason, is considered leaving/loosing the fight.

Sounds like a plan. Crazy enough to work. (no big deal though:P)

And somehow another 15minutes later 2 more [Lane Security] BCs come to Magellan ... without saying a word.... interesting.
That would be Ralph.Thorson/Dominator.
Yes you kicked his ass in his Gunboat, and yes he did switch accounts and flew past you guys to get to Cali.
Yet he didn't attack you, infact you all dishonorably killed him while you KNEW he couldn't attack you.
But your being paranoid about the Lane Security here.
We are not these guys nor affiliated by them.
So please, stop that slander.
It is true, I as Harvey did try cruising to catch up from your semi-thruster-fleeing. Its pretty much chasing you - as you were unofficially but still - fleeing, that is however not re-engaging.
Anyhow, if this is wrong then I've learned my lesson.
Or is Tic right?

But only if a player has ran more then 2k(my guess) and shows no interest in shooting back, just running.
I was usally doing it if a player goes more then 3.5k away.

@chopper... well I did say it's their choice to use GBs right? The problem I have with that is the 2 BHG GBs chasing a fighter with an Order GB passing by a few times.
They know that they have a very good chance to kill the GB... yet they chase the fighter which they have just about no chance to kill...that way it certainly looks like they are using capships just to get revenge on the LH.

a) If you just wanted to pass trough Magellan you could just send it on system chat and we would let you.... but how could you actually want to go to Cali when you just got killed there? And we didn't leave Cali before you came to Magellan.:nono:
b) Once we start firing on you in Magellan you have full right to defend yourself... that is not against the rules.. :rtfm:

Well we have very good reasons to be paranoid. Every day no matter where we are or what we do the result is always the same... 2+ GBs or a few BHG BCs show up against 1-2 Fighters.
Now I got bored of flying circles around them for hours. Instead I just leave when I get them on 14k and that's it... makes for nice hit and run from our side... and the capship owners must be bored to hell.
Another example from yesterday.. we pirate a guy in a transport... 12minutes later he comes in his BHG BC, parks right next to Mactan and dock-rapes everyone that tries to undock.

Problem is that with two GBs one can keep trusting and shooting on me... while the other one engages cruise to catch up... then they switch.. and so on...
I was never more than 1.5k from you so don't come with what Tic said.
Cruise is already completely banned from PVP fights:rtfm:

Actually, in space, due to the lack of a medium, bigger ships can move just as fast as smaller ships unless they were near some kind of large celestial body.

I give up. I'll keep tally though. This doth be four. Cap whores, boo... But until there's a rule against it. Well... Can these at least go in flood? Perhaps an aimless rant thread there would suit these issues better.

one word.... mass
it happens to be the same everywhere... so you would still need a huge force to get them moving... yes top speed will be the same... but not how they get to it will be quite different.
