You could also vote for an old marauder to be fine back there in 4.83. Only reason you never wanted it, was cos of the fact it didn't have STATS ON PAPER, like armor, shield and OMG all important class 10 guns. But with bugged hitbox, It could rape anyone into oblivion.

This is my last reponse to you Starbutt in relation to this problem. Listen carefully youngman/woman. I disliked the Marauder due to its lack of competiveness versus MkI. I was not aware of bug and my friend made decision to use Somataw to combat your lvl 10 advantage. With Somataw we had edge on armor and guns, forward turret, but I found the Kushan, once MkII arrived which gave advantage over MkI, but equal to MkII. I used Marauder briefly, finding it wanting, and once changed the purist CYLONs disappeared, yet I remained.
Interesting, that only I, and my friend, remain. If Marauder such a gem where are the other Cylons? Only A206 remain.

i have read only like half of all - but since the discussion doesn t really move foreward - maybe there can be another approach.
this is only a personal opinion - but ... the new cylon fighters fit better into freelancer than the old ones ( just my point of view ) - so if igiss is really up to replacing a few ships - and the BSG ppl still insist on keeping the BSG ships in the mod ( there appears to be a good fanbase if there are 3 factions based on BSG ) ... making / or getting the modell of the new fighter won t be too hard.
maybe it comes with a hitbox even if we can ask for it from another mod. - ( i think it is similar to the LH fighter that turkish has modelled ) that way - there was a nice fighter that doesn t look like crap like the old marauder and there might be a better hitbox and adequate stats on the new one.
just suggesting that, cause i think the old marauder doesn t fit into the mod at all - and the new BSG cylon fighter ... well, - i think it does fit OK. looks like a sophisticated civilian sports spaceship or something. too curvy for a real vanilla ship - but better than the homeworld things anyway.

Viper doesn't turn as fast as Eagle. Fact.
Viper mk2 might have a wrong hitbox, Viper mk1's is perfect. Fact.
Viper mk1 is not more agile then mk2. Fact.
Marauder can beat a Viper, in equal skilled fighter battle. Fact.
How do I know this? Because, i fly (or have flown, while had time) the Marauder.
With new hitbox as well.

Number of bots/bats means nothing if the ship is much more agile.
If it would be so important, then we could just say all VHF's are stronger then LF's, right?
You can compare Titan and Sabre, see that Titan has more hull, bigger powerplant, etc.
Would that be important when Titan meets a Sabre? Nope.
Is it surprising that you actually missed the Marauder's biggest flaw? No, it isn't.
You probably don't fly it, and you probably never will.
The only (my opinion) flaw of the Marauder is that weapons rip off very fast.
Explosions are deadly for it's guns.
BSG/CR never complained about Marauders.

BSG (there was no CR then) were the only ones who supported Cylon existance.

I will not comment Viper mk2, does it or does it not have a bad hitbox.

Well, after considering circumstances in which you fight, I must say, you're one of the few players I know out there, that don't care about the odds, and you fight the impossible fights. Due to these factors, your skills really improved, but you also got the superior fighter. Again, I don't complain bout the fact that it's bugged, but rather that is NOT CYLON. But as you dislike current stats on the Marauder, If introducing raider Mk2 is too complicated, I'd suggest re-balancing Marauder to fit your needs. You can ask for class10 hardpoints on it, class10 shield, even more armor and regens, but, would have to sacrifice it's agility in return. It has to have some drawback to be "balanced craft". If you research "Star Hound" class Viper Mk1, to the Raider Mk1, you'll see that Cylon raider is in fact more maneuverable than Viper, which was intended as fast interceptor. Thus why, Marauder should be more maneuverable than the Viper. Make a request to get upgraded Marauder, I'd be the 1st to vote YES on it.
Now, about stats "on paper". If you compare Viper 1 to Viper 2, by those only, you'd easily choose Mk2 as a superior fighter. But is it really so? Ask =BSG=Brainswap that still flies Mk1, and he'll tell u IT IS NOT. A slightly stronger armor and more regens of the Mk2, come with a CURSE of a bigger hitbox, actually turning the tables. In mass combat, when everyone is shooting at you, smaller hitbox is MUCH MORE important than 10 or so more regens or few 1000 more armor, that will melt away eventually, but with smaller hitbox you can evade almost, indefinitely.
Same goes for the current Marauder, only it is its agility that turns the tables: A bit less armor, and a bit less regens, are negated by the fact that now, Marauder is in fact, quite agile. In a conclusion: I personally, would LOVE to HAVE viper with the STATS of the Marauder! By all means, TURN THE Mk2 from VHF to HF! Give it class 9 MAX and class8 hardpoints, make it into a CROW equivalent. "Nerf" the Viper in that way, and you'll get my THANKS. I'd take AGILITY and MANEUVERABILITY over armor and regens on a fighter, anyday!
EDIT: Oh and don't get "flashed" by the CLASS 10 OMG guns. CODES and Nomads suck, simply due to the fact that they're 600m/s, and in dogfight, it's not about how much damage your guns make, but rather if they actually HIT or MISS. Krakens and Wyrms >> all CODES. And guess what? CYLONS can use OC weaponry...

As we are still in the same version.. nothing has changed on this ship.... yet someone sees it fit to continue using it for let's say..."permanent" presence in NY.
On the other hand...I'm sorry about accusing you of re-engaging... I killed you first time at 19:32 GMT ... and for the second time at 23:55 GMT.. after a fight that lasted some 20 minutes... since it took time to supernova the other 3 ships firing on me... so technically it was not against the rules.
