Another tactic to use is to suicide mines agianst them, specially in a bargehest. YOu have so much more armor you can take a nuke, while they usually cant.
gone four years, first day back: Zoners still getting shot in Theta :|
If you want to own fighters in a bomber get a Roc. Its maneuverability and comparatively low power core makes it perfect for fighting smaller ships. Throw 4 EMPs, a Nuke and a SNAC on it. All you need to do, is to drop your opponet's shield fast with the EMPs. Then start aiming your SNAC on each approach. If you're skilled in mines, use them as well. Additionally, you gotta have a good aim for the SNAC, strafe up and down like hell, the right feeling for the ship and you must <3 the Roc.

How did you all get the idea I was fighting fighters? I know that a bomber isn't the right craft for that...
I asked for strategies how to get a Liberty cruiser or just a Bounty Hunter gunship down! (Yes, I failed to do both)

If I want to fight fighters, I fly one myself....
You need a teammate.
You can't fight any of those on your own.
Sure, you can kill a bottlenose theoretically, but he'd have to be a much lousier pilot then you are.
If you are working alone in a bomber, you are either a) really good in it and can fight fighters; b) you'r after transports.
It's always better to have a teammate. A lonely bomber is an easy prey, unless you'r real good in it.

It is every Corsair's responsibility to die a beautiful death in defense of Crete, regardless of how OORP or how capwhoring the opposition is. Launch your fighter, joust the battlecruisers and die a beautiful death. Then, drink it down in the bar.

If you're fighting anything bigger then a transport, you'll need to use your SNAC on their shields. Don't bother with a Nova on anything bigger then a GB's shields, unless you know where to aim, as it will do no damage. And if you're fighting a cruiser or battleship in a bomber, stay FAR away, usually past 1K, and snipe them with your SNAC.

Fixed. (And this comes from someone who solely flew bombers for a whole year. If you want to shoot fighters down, get a fighter.)
Bounty Hunter Gunships are designed to take out bombers, at least as far as I'm concerned. I never go up against them alone....it's suicide.
If your primary targets are not snubcraft, then go with screamers....there ideal at taking down large shields. Then offer delicious SNACs. Most cap ships are easy enough, but watch for Solaris.
A good rule of thumb, if your fighting primarily caps/transports, screamers are the choice, if it's snubs, then go with the nukes and hope they don't know how cds work.
