Also the trade lane sensor network in newcastle doesnt work for the BPA

Agreed, it would be more useful to have a "Mining field capacity: X%" kind of thing the first time you shoot a rock, then not again for that same field.

Gas mining is on the list. Problem is, structural changes such as adding fields or creating new commodities require a mod update - 's why it can't be done on the fly.
