Quote:Gunship = Light Gunboat. If you don't believe me, check the mod readme that says the BH Gunship is a "Bounty Hunter Light Gunboat" and the LH Gunship is a "Lane Hacker Light Gunboat." Light Cruiser and Battlecruiser both include the word CRUISER with them. Why is it so hard to figure out that they are CRUISERS? This is ridiculous. Are you going to claim that an LF (Light Fighter) isn't a real fighter? Give me a break. Players need to use a little common sense.

No, but it does allow for foolish people to think of it as a loophole, especially many of those players who do not really visit the forums or read the rules.

If you want proof, Juan, read the first post of the thread.

I'm not responsible for somebody else's foolishness. Stormblade was looking for a loophole, so that he can use a larger capital ship than is allowed for a generic ID. Hoodlum gave him a clear answer, even though Stormblade should have enough common sense to figure out the intent behind the rules and IDs.

Exactly. :) You're not, and I'm not, and that is why we can't make assumptions. By simply doing this, there is no way for anyone to make up an excuse for the loophole.

Not everyone in the world is as smart as you are. They might not be able to figure out these things, let alone use common sense.

Juan, I understand what you mean, but it doesn't hurt to take an extra precaution.

You're right -- the server rules and IDs should be made idiot-proof, since some players lack the common sense to correctly interpret the rules and IDs, while other players try to find loopholes.:nono:

You're right again. Thanks for reminding me. The last time I took an IQ test (about four years ago), I got a perfect score. That makes me smarter than the average doctor (I've proven doctors wrong) or lawyer (I developed the winning legal strategy to defeat a team of lawyers who were working for a bank that was trying to swindle my mother).:yahoo:

By the way, I'm really tempted to never again take another IQ test the rest of my life, since I can't really do better than the last result. I could get another perfect score, but that is unlikely. I don't think I should push my luck.

You're right again. I am continually amazed at how rare common sense really is.:(

I think we better make that multiple extra precautions.:rtfm:

Juan, are you a member of MENSA?

Here is the link: www.mensa.org

This is total threadjacking, but...w/e.

I've never joined Mensa, nor have I taken their test. I did try an abbreviated version that was published in "Reader's Digest" about 15 years ago and I did well on that one. I used to know a Mensa member and I talked with him about the organization, but he never convinced me to join. I've often viewed Mensa as a group of snobs -- ironic considering that I've often been called arrogant, egotistical and even a snob myself.

Maybe I don't want to be a member of an organization that would have me as a member. Just ignore that I'm a member of this community. Are you confused yet?
