Report those buggers, or make camera ships given by admins only.
I can't think at the moment how having the camera ship -without- hitbox could be abused in any way...
Even given by admins only, the camera ship is an important asset to the mod imo.
Having it without a hitbox would be awesome.
why does every idea come with the "but it will be abused" statement, youd have to be really freakin desperate to abuse a camera ship because it has no hitbox. i mean really.........

Acutally, the way planet and sun deaths work is by "death zones" rather than collision detection. Your example is incorrect, as both planets and suns and torpedoes would still be capable of damaging a hitboxless ship.
They all do damage based on proximity of the event center to the ships HPhardpoint rather than the exterior hitbox.
EDIT: That is actually why torpedoes only work sporadically on large targets, especially shielded ones, since they explode at the hitbox but do damage at the hp hardpoint, which on some ships are either offset or out of range from the front/back.
gone four years, first day back: Zoners still getting shot in Theta :|
The thing has 200 botts/batts and can thrust at cruise speeds if you strafe and fly at 45 degress to your destination.
Although I get what you are saying. I've been an angel less than a week, and I've been shot at on my camera-ship on 4 seperate occasions. Something about it just attracts the ire of the comprehensionally challenged. <strike>It's only a mild annoyance, but trying to dodge and help 3 people on comms isn't particularly fun.</strike>Actually it makes it more fun.
<strike>It's hardly in urgent need of change though.</strike> leave it as it is

Like flying a really wide ship into a planet doesn't hurt you at some angles.
