The question is: will it be better if someone typing "discoverygc.com" in browser will be redirected to forums rather than portal homepage where there's not so many useful information?

PRO this idea is that everyone will see the whole forum immediately, without any additional clicks.

CONTRA is that the board is really one click away. And the last topics and search are displayed on the portal as well. Besides there will be place for important news.

I think you should keep it, it could be used to announce things like you have released a new version of your freelancer mod or um... well something else will come to me later I'm sure :P.
