I made this to help break up pages that turn into a long wall of text. It makes it a little easier for people to read pages that seem to blend together. The template can be found HERE.

Variables
  • clear = Choose to clear to the next line. Options: left, right, or both.
  • border = Choose the color of your border. Default = #5c5c5c
  • bgcolor = background color of the block.
  • color = Color of the left line.
  • header = The header for your information.
  • headtag = Use header tags if you wish, for the page ToC.
  • header2 = Small test after your header on the same line.
  • body = The body of your information.
"headtag" can be:
These are examples and are not what the variable is limited to. Do NOT use the < and > symbols in this variable, they will create errors in the output of the template.
  • leave blank - The template uses <span style="font-size: 1.5em;]
  • div - template uses <div> - This will force the header2 variable down to the next line of text.
  • h2 - <h2> - This will force the header2 variable down to the next line of text and add the header variable to the Table of Contents.
  • h3 - <h3> - This will force the header2 variable down to the next line of text and add the header variable to the Table of Contents.
  • you get the point, right?
  • If you use an alternate tag for the header then you may insert a style too. For example: h3 style="font-size: 1.5em;" or div style="font-size: 1.5em;"
If you want to see the template in use, click on either the OCM or the LR picture in my signature.

This template has been updated. It is more clean and has a couple new variables now.

Nice stuff. Now I just wonder is it possible to add variable of size of the borders around text and that text inside would automaticaly fit it? That would add possibility of using same size to have better looking pages!

let's see...I don't use classes on GC so the border width should be adjustable.

You want the width to be adjusted too so you can prevent overlap of other boxes?

Neat. What's the license on your template? How portable is the markup behind it?

I'm not sure what you're asking here. I didn't copyright it, I only ask that my name is kept in the code if it's used on other sites.

Snake, I'll look at those changes you want but I can't do that today. I made a major update to the DUSA wiki and we're busy updating individual pages.

So it's more like a CC-BY license that's on it.

The main thing to consider is I wanted to share it with GC so I imported it to the GC wiki from where I host most of my creations.

My only regret about this particular template is that those who use Internet Explorer 8 will only see squared corners. To those people I say, "Download a real browser! (I recommend Google Chrome, I love that browser.)"
