It's been awhile since I've had a real chance to talk to either one of you, perhaps it's time we caught up on how each other is doing?
Today I come with something rather incriminating, and knowing how much you've done for USI (Not only things like our barge, but maintenance, etc.), I had figured you would rather deal with this personally.
The other day I was out delivering some goods, when I stumbled upon the Malkuth, a Junker Congress vessel. Now, he was at well over scanners range, and hailed him, and thought little of it.
This was at Planet Denver, my home. Now, I had some business I needed to take care of, so launch took longer then expected.
Well, the Junker was well within scanners when I unmoored, and he musta been really scared. I got a glimpse of his hold... The pictures should do the rest.
I know the Junkers are your friends, and ours to some extent, but your relationship is much bigger. And I hope that this see's a resolution. Please do keep me informed on what happened.
For now, I will leave you.
To assist us in our decision as to what to do about this incident, I need some answers.
Are you, or the pilot who took the cargo scans able to tell me exactly where they were purchased?
Also, do you have any additional proof that these diamonds are in fact blood diamonds?

Contrary to popular beliefs, Blood Diamonds do read differently on the scanners then normal Diamonds. See, the diamonds differ how they are made. A normal white diamond is formed correctly, and mined as such. Differences in color can be determined from merely where they are mined from, or their formation. The "Reddish" hue present in Blood Diamonds is due to a crystal lattice defect in it's formation... So, it reads differently on the scanners, as you can well see.
And it has come from many-a-smugglers that we learned that Diamonds of such quality, come from Hessian bases, usually. Hence why they are outlawed.

Thank you for your quick response with this, I am sure you understand our alliance between the Congress and ourselves is a very important one especially when it comes to the clearing of the scrap fields. I will be needing all the information, from both sides, before I make a plan of action which may effect this partnership.
Although, after contacting a few people I have found out;
Quote:All diamonds are formed the same way. The difference in appearance comes from the way they were mined. If there is a difference in colour (and there often is not) it refers to where they were mined and does nothing to show that they were mined illegally. Some places will produce better quality than others, but that has nothing whatsoever to do with proving who is mining them or who is selling them.
There is no color difference between blood diamonds and other diamonds. The name comes from the fact that some diamonds are mined with slave labor and there is a great deal of blood spilled to get those diamonds to market. They look the same as any other. Now, post mining, there is some difference in quality. Some mining outfits are able to cut diamonds in the best ways so the final product is amazing. Some lower budget outfits do not produce such a great product. The Hessians, while they may be ruthless and nefarious pirates are also mostly former miners so they know how to produce a good product. If you are seeing inferior diamonds on the market, it probably did not come from them. There are some independent mining outfits that supply only uncut diamonds or diamonds cut in a very rough way.
I have made contact with the Congress and an internal investigation will take place to firstly find out where the diamonds were bought, using ship logs, and secondly if necessary to deal with the pilot in question if required as this is a serious crime and from what I have both seen, and been told, the Junker Congress tend not to work with Diamonds, especially of the blood variety.
I will pass on the information you have provided us to the President, and we will be in touch if we have further questions, or a decision has been made.
