Need a bit of help editing a signature

Hey there. So i'm using a fairly old version of photoshop, so I'm not quite sure how everything works. I'm trying to get a signature that has a transperent background, but keep ending up with a white background. If someone could take this image and replace the white background with a transperent background, I'd really appriciate it.

And yes, that yellow stuff around the lettering is supposed to be there.
