Denizens, workers, children, wives and husbands of Rheinland, I have a message for you. Many do not remember our founding on Planet New Berlin, decades before the end of the 80-years war. Many do not remember the sacrifices and services we have performed for you.
Many do not even know our name. I am here to give you a history lesson.

In 700 A.S, the workers revolted. The ragged masses, men and women just like you. They worked 16 hour days, with no pay for months. And for what? To attempt to fuel the Kanzler's flagrant desires to take the Sigmas in his name. On Founders Day, they said "No more!" and fought back. Brandishing sticks, tools, guns, they rose up. They fired the opening salvos of revolution. We were at the head of the revolution, monitoring the ebb and flow. We managed the scant resources our people had, in order to ensure our goals were fulfilled. We ran weapons to the men on the front, those doing the fighting against a tyrannical regime.

Though the democracy that was instituted lasted for a short time, it inevitably became corrupt. We once again found ourselves outlawed, bandits, enemies of the state. The Hessians, once our allies, resorted to plundering, to piracy. However, we took the high road. We remained strong, we remained the truly enlightened ones. We fought for freedom, for equality, and that is what allowed us to persevere.

Fast forward a few decades, to the Nomad War. Heroes like Klaus Botzler fought and died for your freedom. Who was Klaus, might you ask? He was our leader. He was unafraid to give his life for you. For all of the Fatherland. He was a true hero. With our dwindling funds, we released one last campaign. We called ourselves "the people's protectors." Monetary support came flowing in. But money is not enough.

It is now your time to serve, your time to be a hero of Rheinland!
