Brethren. Children of the Hispania. Heed this code well

Technology lends to our anger an armored fist. Reaching to strike, our advancement gives to it a purposeful multiplicity.
Ever sharpened - Our weapons spur our hatred, and where once we could strike out at one foe, now we strike at many in the same belligerent blow. And strike mine enemies children. Striking too mine enemies children's children.

Onwards With our advancing industry of war we may raise such fists of electricity and point such swords of apocalypse, that where they point we my set scars for generations. Now such hideous un-healing scars.
And this day we point our swords upwards to the heavens, and in mere days time we abandon Earth and Sol and history itself, already bearing such hideous scars from this bloodied cradle.
New futures await us on this gloried path to Sirius. But I think not peaceful ones.

Are we but children of strife and woe? Already in our past is laid out such a bloody map that I fear for our childrens children. Those unborn citizens of Sirius. Life yet unborn. What horrors we bring to them that they will know only the violence that we shall take from here.
It is already written that this is all we may carry for them, for they are a seed un-planted, yet already fertile with our anguish and rage.

Evolution must be led by the nose, even as we have been so led by her. This then is a code for a New Age; that our evolution has always relied on our swords of flame, yet we may be engulfed in that fire though it pushes us ever upwards. Now - humanity may be extinguished by its own actions - even as we prosper.

Humanity? What is humanity but a few fleeting regrets and impulses? Impulses driven by base needs and evolutions fancies - And which of these may we afford to lose? Decide future unborn! Decide those of our weaknesses and strengths which you shall sacrifice in your new evolution. Everything? Any? All?

Shall you become mere automatons? Industrious star wanderers devoid of reason and morality?

Now I must beg this other question from you: Which anchoring to our meager heritage will survive? only our technology? Our anger? Our fear? Then what will keep you human in the nightmare void?
How shall you remain a fraternity as you wage your violence among the stars? What brothers shall you be? Ever embracing or ever wrestling?

Seeking, we step the path evolution has given us, but our humanity cannot be secured merely by the advancement we seek. Humanity cannot be preserved by the technology we develop. In the resources we crave there is no measure of comfort that we shall prosper. Let us melt gold, and eat fruits from alien trees, but what shall sustain our reason? Preservation of our morality is not written in the freedoms we demand - only the assumption that we shall continue to wish for it.

I suspect this then:
Five houses point their ambitions to Sirius and already we see much fraction and division. Eventually we must face harsh truths: That We go to new stars not as comrades, but as rivals. And will you turn to violence in that competition? Rivalry. I fear the word, for we know it only as war.

Finally, I claim that it is your honor, and honor only that will bring us all to prosperity and survival. Of course we must have war, for we and you are a fighting breed, and evolution has shaped us thus, in her wisdom and mystery. Relentlessly we must war, but then let that war be led by human impulses, and not be the cause of their cessation.
Only war without honor will lead us to devolve to something less than human, that no advancement in warlike prowess or technological mastery may replace.
Unborn warriors! Learn this lesson: as You master your destiny so you must master your humanity.
