Subject: Piracy in Omega 3

I have just been notified by my staff that last evening a small convoy of ALG ships carrying goods to Bretonia was hijacked in the Omega 3 system. While most cases of piracy are handled through our security division, this incident is unusual in that it was not credits the pirates were after, but the full amount of the cargoes of our vessels.

Three ships, carrying Military Vehicles and Nuclear Devices destined to aid the Bretonian Armed Forces departed Dortmund station last evening with an escort of freelancer ships led by an ALG corporate security ship (an eagle). During transit through the Omega 7 system, our small convoy was intercepted by a group of ships bearing Corsair transponders and of Corsair manufacture. Our hired escorts engaged the Corsairs while our transports detoured past the downed trade lanes and escaped to Omega 3.

The incident report shows that our ships, after entering the trade lane gates at Alland Shipyard the route to Freeport 1 was disrupted. There in wait were several ships bearing Molly transponders. Among them were two heavily armored shires, a pirate train, a pirate transport, and a gunboat. Three barghest bombers, two werewolf and two or three greyhound class ships appeared on scanners as our transports turned to reverse course. Their escape was cut off from behind.

The Mollys demanded that the cargo contents of our ALG transports be dropped or transferred to their ships. When a cash settlement was attempted to be negotiated, in attempt to allow our surviving escorts from the Omega 7 battle time to reach our ships, the Mollys opened fire on our eagle, instantly destroying the snubcraft. One of the bombers then held the pilot's escape pod hostage, threatening to obliterate it with a supernova anti-matter cannon.

After the cargo transfer, our ships were released, but the pilot was to be freed. At that time, a passing bounty hunter orca and two manta class ships entered the area. The Mollys tractored our pilot and their transports left under fighter escort while the gunboat and bombers obliterated the bounty hunter ships. Our own transports, now empty, ran for Alland Shipyard and were able to dock safely. Our eagle pilot was released at Freeport 1.

Recovery of video imaging and communications logs are underway. Space is a dangerous place of course, and while piracy is not unusual, the complete theft of cargo of this type is unusual, as was the number of pirate ships involved. While it may be just coincidence, it was as if they knew of our cargo and destination and were there specifically to intercept our shipping.

Sehr geehrte Frau Schmidt,

this are of course bad news.
At first, you should be aware, according to the current Omega-Treaty §2.4 the Rheinland Bundespolizei cannot operate in Omega-3.
So all further investigations, about this matter, inside Omega-3, should be taken from the Bretonia Polizei and shared with the Rheinland Polizei.

After we got your logs, we'll of course investigate your last mentioned point within Rheinland to ensure ALGs safety.

Mit freundlichen Grueßen
